Judith Elmer traumatized patient Do not come to NH you will leave worse off They will not help you. From: NH - Not Welcome Notice NotWelcomeNotice@nh.org.au Sent: Friday, 22 August 2025 12:43 PM To: dave (email address removed for post) Cc: FeedBack, NH feedback@nh.org.au Subject: Zero Tolerance Notice for recent unacceptable behaviours directed towards NH staff Dear Mrs Elmer, Following the recent reported behaviours during your visits to Northern Health, it has been decided that you will receive a Zero Tolerance Notice (attached). You have been reported to be verbally abusive towards staff. Northern Health does not tolerate such behaviours directed towards staff. Kind regards Northern Health My reply to NH Dear Northern Health, I strenuously deny being verbally abusive to anyone at Northern Health. Further there have been no recent VISITS apart from ONE consultation with Dr Leung on 31/7 2025. I was taken to Northern Hospital by ambulance on 23/7/2025 suffering from severe iron deficiency anaemia. I could not stand up; my iron had dropped to 2 haemoglobin 82. I had been regularly seeing Dr Lachlan Hayes at the Haematology clinic and he had a successful treatment plan .Dr Hayes left, is no longer employed by Northern Hospital and for months no one bothered to follow up with treatment for me. I tried but was fobbed off. I was eventually booked into the WRONG CLINIC rapid iron despite the fact that there is a medical alert on my file that I am allergic / cannot tolerate iron especially IV IRON. I was eventually given ONE unit of packed red cells (blood) and despite still being severely anaemic I was discharged. I was told I could take it up with the doctor at my "haematology" appointment on 31/7/2025. You have access to my discharge summery please look at it. I told the doctor who discharged me I had been booked into the wrong clinic rapid iron instead of Haematology. His response was" SHIT HAPPENS". It was my own fault for letting my iron get so low. I have now had treatment. I replied it was not "treatment" just a band aid solution I was still symptomatically anaemic with low Hb 89 and very low iron. I also told him this was not "shit happening" to quote him, it was negligence. Of note the doctor who saw me during her I assume rounds said "I can understand you are PISSED OFF DR HAYES LEFT". And you say I am "abusive". I replied I and probably all his other patients are very disappointed because he was the best doctor and a lovely person. I will include my complaint so you can see the entire disgraceful saga and of note It is unlawful for a hospital to issue a zero tolerance and not welcome notice to retaliate against a patient who has made a complaint. It is called VICTIMISATION. They booked me into the wrong clinic RAPID IRON ,had put my life at risk by blackmailing me to accept "treatment" which the hospital itself had deemed I could not have placing a medical alert on my file saying I COULD NOT BE GIVEN IRON My complaint Today's Date: 5/8/2025 Facility/Person or Department you are commenting on: Dr Teresa Leung Haematology Northern Health Location: Craigieburn Centre Comments: I have been a long term patient at Northern Hospital Haematology under the care of Dr Lachlan Hayes who left NH. I have very serious reoccurring iron deficiency anaemia and cannot tolerate IV iron with an alert on my medical file to that effect. I had blood transfusions and regular follow up consultations. Since Dr Hayes left there has been no follow up. I was booked into the wrong clinic.. My iron dropped to 2 Hb 82. I collapsed was taken to ED by ambulance and was given 1 unit of blood. I have been forced to see Dr Teresa Leung who is coercing me to have IRON SUCROSE despite the alert on my file and it being unsuitable as I have asthma, allergies and immunological conditions. Leung is coercing me, incompetent and will not listen. I want nothing to do with her as she is putting my life at risk. She lied told me Dr Hayes "had contacts" he could get long term blood. She was "new "with no contacts and there was no blood available so I had to have Iron sucrose because dialysis patients could tolerate it. I do not have kidney failure there is no comparison. She begrudgingly allowed me to have one unit of blood booked in for6/8/25 which is not enough and not in keeping with adequately managing my condition. I had to chase up the cross match and blood request because she "forgot" I have had only good things to say about N/H but I cannot be a patient there any longer under Leung. She will kill me with her negligence and incompetent reckless behaviour. I cannot even come to NH for the lifesaving blood transfusion tomorrow. Please do something. They issued a ZERO TOLERANCE NOTICE and NOT WELCOME NOTICE THEY BANNED ME in retaliation for making a complaint UNLAWFULLY hospitals in Victoria cannot legally issue a "zero tolerance notice" to retaliate against someone for making a complaint read more

5/5 when I went to get stitches in my nose the staff were friendly and fantastic. I was looked after well. I was in and out within 2 hours. The dr actually spoke to me instead of my dad. He explained to me what he was doing and how long it was going to take. A hospital I'm happy to go back to ur needed. read more

My daughter was admitted to this hospital back in December 2025. After 2 days she was sent home on blood thiners, pain meds and crutches because she couldn't walk. Samantha died 18 hours after discharge. Sam died because she was sent home with a massive pulmonary embolism (which her doctor knew about), and blood clots in her lungs (again her doctor knew about it), and a blood clot in her femoral artery (again her doctor knew about). She was only 36 years old and left behind 3 beautiful kids, a brother and sister who are heart broken and a mum who has been destroyed by the death of her daughter which was totally preventable if her doctor had have done his/her job properly. I could not recommend this hospital to anyone. They have ripped apart too many hearts. read more
