It has been in use a few years now & is a nice modern structure all shiny & new with lots of glass. There is a car park next to it with easy access to the hospital via ramps & covered walkways, no stairs so easy for wheelchairs. The inside is nicely decorated, clean & shiny & all the toilets are lovely & clean. There are cafes, coffee shops, various drinks & food machines & lots of free water dispensers everywhere. It is very child friendly with a kids play area in most departments. There are lots of friendly staff around if you need help or directions.

Also attached to the shop/centre they do counselling, which after talking the the great ladies there have told me that the charity shop helps fund low costing counselling sessions for people on low income. Occasionally there is a new face behind the till, so I'm not saying the person who wrote the review below is lying, it's just not something I have ever noticed and I've been going to this shop for nearly a decade now. I always find treasures in this shop, whether books, clothes, shoes, handbags, jewellery, DVDs, furnishings, ornaments and other knick knacks. I bought a lovely suede-effect lamp for my sitting room for £2 only a few weeks ago, and once I found a long grey French Connection coat with matching trousers in excellent condition for £12, and a beautiful turquoise Karen Millen Basque for £6. I love popping in for a bargain and/or a chat, sometimes I even get a cup of coffee. Last but not least, Kim is a trained counsellor and always has an ear, a warm smile and a hug for anyone in need. You can book sessions at a reduced rate which I believe are funded by the shop, so don't forget to drop of your old clothes and any junk, which may well be someone else's treasure. PS: Patrycha, don't you mean xenophobic? However I'm also not English so...perhaps it was a one-off volunteer? Why don't you to go back and give it another try...? One time I waited until gone 5:30, four and a half hours in a hot sticky waiting room, listening to the nurse talk loudly about every poor patients condition, only to be seen by a doctor that literally had such bad English she called in another nurse to help her understand what I was saying. Forty minutes for a straightforward prescription, not in a busy period I hasten to add. And. All of this after most the time spending 30+ minutes driving around to park in the car park getting stressed you'll miss an appointment, to pay a fortune to park. The only reason it isn't a 1* is because I think the NHS is a great institution.

It was the summer so I would spend my time sitting both in and outside. The surroundings are very modern and generally nice for a hospital. The car park costs 4.00 for the day, however I recommend parking along the main road just past the hospital coming from Barnet as there is free parking along that road. A short walk and you have saved yourself 4.00! There are two places to eat and drink in the hospital - a coffee shop open during the day and the canteen open till late. I found the cafe latte in the coffee shop to be weak and poor value for money. The canteen is cheaper but typical canteen food. The place itself is modern and for someone like me who hates hospitals I found it helped ease my mind.

Future historians will also marvel at the quaint medical fantasies of middle class Sunday-Times reading (and believing) Londoners, just as today's historians look back on practices like leeches and trepaning. Incidentally, these two practices would almost certainly become available at the RLHH (or 'RLMBH' for short) if someone were to write a Times article claiming they solve such concerning ailments as 'waitrose has sold out of marmalade' and 'I don't know which curtains to put up in my landrover'. It's reassuring that the RLMBH still offers 'conventional care' - actual medical treatment - as the other hospitals under the umbrella of University College London Hospitals (not actually part of UCL but an NHS foundation trust) are first-class teaching institutions. However they 'compliment' this 'conventional care' with sheer quackery 'where there is evidence of the effectiveness of complementary therapies'. Well sorry chaps, there's no evidence. I remember thrashing out this issue over breakfast while staying in Chengdu once. My opponent was a girl who was trying to pass off some vaguely distilled water as a cure for my friend's hangover. She had apparently wasted four years of precious life to 'study' mumbo jumbo and yet could not provide any basis for an argument. She simply repeated "it upsets me when you say that" each time I demanded factual evidence. I must admit, I did feel sorry for her and so offered her a Neurofen tablet, which she angrily declined. Unfortunately... someone... somewhere... at some time... felt sorry for someone in London... and gave them a whole hospital where everyone can go and bury their heads in the sand at the taxpayer's expense.

Autogenics Training , a Children's Clinic and a Complementary Cancer Care Programme to name a few specialist areas. The pharmacy made up most of the concoctions and I have memories of making up lotions and potions prescribed by the doctors.We made up a lot of creams and ointments for skin problems. All that aside...a week after treatment I received a flat out crazy phone call from the owner accusing me of not paying...when i have a receipt and a debit on my bank account. She then changed her story and said the bank refused the transaction..which again is absolutely not true..as I have a receipt and verified the completion of the transaction (and have proof) on my account. I could understand calling someone if there is an issue, but she was aggressive and when I told her that there was no discrepency on my end- she called me a "liar and accused me of fraud." I am not even sure what that means, but it is certainly not an experience I would recommend for anyone. AVOID!

She helped me achieve good health. Dr Lily spends time with her patients and shares information in a way that is easily understood.
