We were a party of five and sampled their turkey, beef and lamb, which were flavourful. The vegetables were carrots, runner beans, cauliflower cheese (so yummy) and roast potatoes. We also sampled various desserts to include pavlova with dime bar, pavlova with maltesers, treacle pudding and chocolate flake ice cream. These were all generous portions. The friendliness of the family run staff members was pleasant and polite. You can tell they care about their business. The decor is a little dated but pleasant with two open fires. The menu is classic pub grub, and we chose the burgers (one "Dunstan" beef burger and one Plant burger). Both came with beer onions, cheese, iceberg, pickles, ketchup, mayo in the bap, and fries. They were decent enough, although the chips were a bit dry, and we thought it could have done with a side salad or coleslaw. As I said, service was very pleasant and efficient and gets 4/5, the food 3/5. Overall cost was £35, which for a burger, chips and one drink each, is a bit on the pricey side for a pub in Burnham. There is a bar area, food eating on multiple levels and a newer extension area with later tables for big groups. The food is top notch and superb value for money. As time went on we decided that we would like to stay and have dinner here but indoors as it was getting cold. There were 14 of us and they managed to fit us into the restaurant area on the proviso we ordered quickly before the 6:30pm booking arrived and one table had to vacate by 8pm. The staff were great and we did not feel that we were being rushed even though some people had starters. A lot of us picked from the specials board and the food came out devine and the service was outstanding. The place was busy as it was the jazz/fringe festival weekend so the clientelle was of all ages (a bit annoying having babies/kids screaming thoughout the meal) including elderly who came in through the fire door for easy access. I would definitely recommend this place which is also dog friendly. This place is soo good that Seasick Steve was playing there that evening and eating his dinner in the pub part as we left.
