The Old Spaghetti House (TOSH) is a good place for people to enjoy Italian-based cuisines at such relatively affordable prices. This is especially the case for students of the Ateneo de Manila University, Miriam College, and even UP Diliman. Its location along the busy Katipunan Avenue makes it easy to find, although parking is definitely an issue.
As the name suggests, pasta is their main selling point, and the amount of pasta served and its quality is sufficient for the given price. I especially love their carbonara, which is guaranteed to fulfill my appetite and taste buds. This becomes most evident whenever it offers its Unli Pasta and Pizza promo, which is one of the best promos available.
TOSH, however is more than just pasta. Its pastries are at least above average, its main entrees are delicious and worth their prices, and their desserts are delightful to the senses. Its weakest aspect is its pizza, which is too thin to be truly satisfying, although the taste is good enough.
Its ambiance for me is a good balance of classical Italian restaurants and modern casual dining catered to younger, active people. The seats are comfortable enough and the ventilation and lighting have a relaxing effect on customers. While the service is really good, processing of payments of the meals tend to lag at times.
Overall, I must say TOSH is one of the best restaurants in Katipunan Avenue and I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for pasta lovers looking for affordable meals. read more
