They focus on independence here and they try to really focus on getting their patients to become independent again. They are all so very nice and they are trained on how to deal with combative patients, not by drugging them up but by being gentle and patient, even with their own hectic schedules. It's easier to say "no, stop fighting, this is what's going to happen" then it is to say "hey Linda, it's okay, you're safe so let's take some breaths in and out....in.... out, then mom follows along and becomes calm again so we can start treatment again. They never ever FORCE treatment, they are kind and respectful. I would recommend TIRR to anyone needing physical rehab. I completed the IOP program with Suzanne Martin. I would like to start with first mentioning that…read morethe IOP portion of the program was very beneficial for me. I learned some very useful techniques that now benefit me. I'm only giving a two star rating because of the following: While at IOP I arrived thirty minutes early a few times, and the admin was quick to scold me for being too early. This was quite annoying because I live in Cypress, and I had to drive thirty minutes to an hour to get there. This is not something that a paying customer should have to endure. The Aftercare program, which I also attended, was much less beneficial. It quickly became apparent that it was just a repeat of the IOP program. To me, it was simply a waste of time and money. I found that the therapist who led the group would let certain people monopolize the time which became a source of frustration that caused me to quit. Needless to say, the issues with the admin's customer service skills continued during this time as well.

By the time you meet your physical therapist, your mind is clear... You are alert... And you are ready to get better. And I can promise you that they will make every effort to insure that you are feeling so much better when you leave, than when you arrived. It's what they do & they are VERY good at it. Amber, Rico & Blake offer the perfect combination of professionalism & compassion. And they each bring years of experience to the table. I could actually write 200 pages on how awesome they are. In addition, I have learned ways to not aggravate my issues. Strong as a bull all 5'1" and 102 lbs. Stretch minimum 3 to 4 times a day. To get better one MUST put in the work, eat very healthy. Diavetes & being overweinght exacerbate bone and spine conditions. And force joint replacements. Also, most of people that do hands on work with patient are kind, considerate. There are negatives but place keeps me going + social +understand chronic pain. The have a wellness plan which I partake in. Do the work & you will get better. Watch everything including otc, prescriptions drugs, food fats and any other things like sodium, potassium, sugar preservatives and fake sugars. Do ingredients the work and I will be a lifer at John West. My mantra stand tall and tight, never cane, walker or wheelchair. Remember, YOU CAN DO IT!! If I can after 4 spine surgeries plus several birth defects in my spine so can YOU. GO FOR IT at John West.

Theresa is skilled and personable, and gives every patient so much attention room and care. The entire culture of the clinic is warm and friendly--everyone greeting me by name. I went in barely walking, and am now back to my normal routine thanks to Theresa. I am so grateful to her. She is the best!

I suffered for 5 years with achilles tendinopathy, losing my favorite hobby of walking and even waking up at night in pain. Other places worked on my ankle which helped but pain & inflammation always returned. After switching medicare insurances I was lead to River Oaks. My very first session the therapist says these life changing words, "I think this problem is centered in your back." WHAT?!? OMG, I was shocked. No one had ever told me that, and she immediately began a strategic program to decompress my lower spine while calming my angry achilles & strengthening my calves. Huy is my assigned physical therapist and I'm so grateful for his knowledge and dedications in what he does. I have a very low pain tolerance, yet Huy is extremelyyy patient and encouraging to motivate and guide me through all the exercises to make sure I'm reaching the necessary intensity and milestones for my recovery journey within a safe measure. They also have other assistants helping out during the exercises and all of them are very kind. Their positive environment makes my whole physical therapy journey a lot more tolerable and somewhat enjoyable. I'm always looking forward to my sessions there.
