Unfortunately, the bonding breaks easily and last night at dinner his front tooth bonding broke once again! Our usual dentist (who we still love!) is out of town until Monday so I called several local dentists first thing this morning and Miller Dental offered to stay after hours tonight to repair the tooth! My husband took our son and said it was a great experience from start to finish and that the office is stunning too! He was very impressed with their compassion and professionalism! After having a pretty gnarly accident with a broken tooth, I made an appointment for an evaluation and they were able to get me in same day. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Their office was clean, welcoming, and felt very relaxing. I have some awful past experiences with other dentists/procedures, so a welcoming staff/office on first impression was very important to me. They quickly were able to identify my issues, and they referred me to a specialist for another issue. Their reference was fabulous. They also explained (in-depth) what I needed done, what my options were, and what the financials would be. I came back a week later for my tooth extraction, and I was even MORE impressed this time. I was very, very terrified of having a tooth removed--I was having difficulties remaining calm. The hygenist was AMAZING. She kept reassuring me, explaining what the dentist was doing, and helped me stay relaxed (even when I was literally crying and shaking). The dentist did a great job, as well, by remaining calm/kind and explaining his steps. After my procedure was over, the staff did an amazing job making me feel taken care of, including providing everything I need to care for myself after the procedure. I never had any issues like cavitaties and my visits were always preventative in nature. So why is Lathrop so special? it's the staff in both the front office and hygienists that make each stop positive, calm, and sincere. Whether you're calling over the phone or speaking to the staff in person - you're their priority. The hygenists have a light touch, are sociable without being annoying, and thorough. You never need to request a certain hygienist because they're all very capable and on par with another. I recently moved states and the team cooperated beyond belief with my new dentist to provide current x-rays and even followed up to make sure they arrived. The administrator in the new office actually told me she had never experienced that sort of professionalism. I'm sitting at the new dentists office right now. I don't have any problems I've already had my wisdom teeth out. So they told me that I couldn't get my teeth cleaned because I'm not doing the x-rays so my understanding is they want to do x-rays to get more money out of me because let's say they did find something wrong with something on the x-rays they would still have to have my permission to proceed to go forward to whatever they found. So if I told them no, I don't wanna do anything whatever they found they would say OK and they would clean my teeth so there's really no point on taking the x-rays if I don't proceeded to go forward with whatever they would find and don't forget I don't have any problems so why are you forcing me to do x-rays because they need or want more money. It's sad because they always have excuse saying all they don't wanna lose their license or blah, blah blah, even though the contracted paperwork at the beginning that we signed saying that we can't do anything, even if they broke a tool in our mouth. It's just bothers me that these corporations use these tactics to manipulate us into spending more money in reality it doesn't benefit us. And it's sad because I love this place but once you start adding more stuff just to get money out of my pockets when I've been going here for probably 5-6 years and never had a issue. they need to listen to their clients and their patients more than whatever they're trying to push on us, because at the end of the day we were the ones that pay their bills. Like come on man at the end the day we're calling you paying you to tell you what we need we're not paying you to tell us what we need because trust me if I had some type of problem in my jaw, I would definitely recommend getting an x-ray but I do not have any problems. They do seem to stand by caring for their patients completely, and it seems like my experience was simply an anomaly. -------------------- I truly wanted to have a positive experience with this practice, but unfortunately, I've had several disappointing interactions that I feel are important to share--both as a fair warning to others and in hopes that the practice may be open to resolving the concerns. 1. Lack of transparency and follow-up on payment information -- I've requested copies of the payment forms I signed eight times (once in person, multiple times by email, phone, and voicemail). Despite this, I've still not received any documentation or clear communication around fees--for orthodontic and dental work. 2. Delayed and dismissive handling of records -- After my initial visit with Dr. To, I waited nearly two weeks for answers to my follow up questions, and then decided to request my dental records so I could transition to a new provider. When I followed up today, I was asked to "be patient and wait a few weeks." This felt dismissive, especially given I am in pain and actively seeking timely care. Given the premium pricing and the promise of a holistic, patient-centered approach, I expected a higher level of service, compassion, and professionalism. Instead, I left feeling disregarded, disappointed, and disheartened. If the practice is open to making this right, I would be willing to discuss further. In the meantime, I hope this helps others make informed decisions about their care.
