You can find it on the corner of Main and High School Road on the lawn of the First Baptist Church. It has maybe a dozen tents, close together so you can visit all of the vendors in a reasonable time. The market is only held on Wednesdays between 2:00 and 6:00. A really nice variety of friendly vendors sell local produce, specialty items, meats, breads and bakery goodies, honey, handmade soaps, etc. We picked up three amazing looking macaroons and a nice gift-pack of cookies.

The produce here is excellent, best-of-breed for fresh and local on the Cape as far as we've experienced, and I do think we've tried every stand that there is or has been over the last fifty years (we remember when there were cows on farms on 6A). The only knock we have on CCO Farm is the usual issue for organic produce: it's pretty expensive. The CSA box was less so but we ended up having more wastage per pound of produce, and the season is just very short up here, to be sure. There's a big plus though that where the stand is is literally adjacent to the food they're growing for you, and the ownership seems very responsible. Bonus Christmas Tree info: they sell balsams / firs for $40 flat rate, mostly taller trees, in good shape and fresh enough, with some wreaths, but on two visits to attempt to buy one this year, we waited around for 15 minutes and nobody showed up to help us or take our money, so we took a pass and went down the road to Cape-Abilities. There were two bakery vendors, too, and they usually make doughnuts, in addition to their breads, but when I visited they didn't have any. There was also a soothing oils vendor--Thyme after Thyme--with scents to help heal and strengthen the body and spirit. This market is very centered on just produce, with some other types of goods to purchase, so unless you live in the area and want produce or fruit you may not find a lot. It's fun, however, to walk around and see the different vendors and what they offer. Each vendor was very nice and welcoming, and took time with me when I stopped by his or her tent. I purchased a soothing lavender scented oil from Thyme after Thyme, and a sizable jar of wildflower honey from a local farm. I tucked each into my "Rooted in Falmouth" tote bag, and perused the other vendors, taking in the smells and sights. Falmouth Farmers Market runs every Thursday from noon to 6pm throughout the summer, from late May to early October. It's definitely something to check out if you're looking for fresh produce and doughnuts if the vendors have them. Also be sure to check out the Falmouth Art Market up the street at the community center, which runs on the same day and time as this farmers market; it has a number of local vendors who sell jewelry, pottery, art prints, paintings, and more!! It's a fantastic two-stop market visit!! If only the two would join together in the Marine Park--that would be perfect!!

I am glad I had a chance to visit before Thanksgiving to stock up on some goodies! If you've been to Sweet Berry Farm in Middletown, Four Town is kind of similar, although the rustic farmhouse-chic shop does not have a prepared foods counter. However, they more than make up for it with all the amazing vegetables and fruits grown onsite. I was very impressed with the Honeycrisp Apples and Butternut Squash, as well as their wide selection of house made jellies and salad dressings. In addition to Four Town's slate of offerings, they also showcase other local vendors such as Wrights Dairy Farm's milk and cakes and Venda Ravioli's frozen fresh pasta and sauces. Four Town also carries fresh flowers and greenery that is holiday-ready - Christmas Trees and decorative wreaths and evergreen garlands. The team is friendly and offers excellent assistance in recommendations and recipe ideas- everyone we interacted with was delightful. This is a great stop along the way to lunch or dinner in neighboring Warren or Bristol, and a lovely way to spend a weekend afternoon!

Too humble to gloat for themselves, the yield from this Dennis land is some of the finest (and award-winningest) vegetation on the Cape. And in this bright green, columned shop near Chatham Lighthouse, is the spot to load up on all the crops the farm has to offer. Bibb lettuce to root vegetables, begonias to string beans - whatever's popping up from the well-tilled earth is being sold from these shelves. Oddly, there's also a toy corner, trinkets and baubles for touristy purchases (my shirt has a lighthouse on it!) and a side room serving as a local art gallery. Peculiar? A bit. Unique? Perhaps. Contributive towards the homey vibe? Definitely.* Just like the farm, the retail location is staffed by folks with special needs (mainly students from nearby Chatham High). Unlike the farm, this piece is air conditioned.
