Really nice B&B. Huge place. Only missing a hot tub but it didn't compromise our stay.

This was a great place for my 8 year old son and I to spend quality time together. The property is…read moreabundant in history, beautifully preserved art and artifacts from all over the world. The hosts provided us with a comfortable, enjoyable and informational expeirence that we will always treasure. Not only was our time memorable but our sleep was fantastic which I find rare when traveling to new climates. I will certainly return with my family and have already told my father to make this a destination next time he is in the area. Thank you again Johnathan and Polina. My son told everybody about how yummy your breakfast was. See you next time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at Shiloh Chennault Estate. Polina, one of the owners,…read more greeted us when we arrived, gave us a tour of the civil war artifacts and the exquisite 15th-to 19th century paintings that hung on the walls of the estate. It was a joy to see the paintings and civil war artifacts up close and have the opportunity to discuss the collection with Polina. After the tour, we settled into the Jenny Lind suite with the jacuzzi tub. It was great to soak in the tub and relax after a busy day and enjoy the complimentary wine and refreshments. Our room was so beautiful, quiet and comfortable. We woke up to a beautifully presented breakfast that was healthy and bursting with flavor. Our favorites were the sorbet and fruit, crostini and the lovey and delightful cheesecake. The small plates of deliciousness are sure to please any foodie. We highly recommend staying at the Shiloh Chennault Estate when you are visiting the area. Polina and Jonathan are great hosts who have a tremendous wealth of knowledge of fine art and military history. Shiloh Chennault Estate is very special treat that you don't want to miss.

First tip: if you're in a room with a tub and shower, pull down on the tub spout rim to activate…read morethe shower. I took a weird bird bath until someone told me how that works. Tip 2: if you call the desk after hours, hold on through the message and someone is always on call. I would gladly stay here again in a back corner room. I was in 302, where the view was terrible but the space was excellent for doing a workout between the bed and tv stand. It was quiet. I love the exposed brick and the decor but wonder why there are two gorgeous light fixtures flaming the bed with a switch by the bathroom. That means a reader like me had to relocate the lamp so I wouldn't have to get out of bed to turn out a light. I like that they give you what look like locally made toiletries (lotion, soap and even room spray). They smelled good. Staff were accommodating and checked on our group as guests and when using a meeting room to be sure we were satisfied. And to be right by Big Bad Breakfast and in a lovely walkable downtown made it just right. I didn't know why I'm not compelled to give it 5 stars but I certainly enjoyed being there.

Our stay last night was very unpleasant. We were super excited about our stay at The Stricklin, as…read morethe hotel is very quaint and has so much character and charm. The hotel was also extremely convenient for a wedding we attended just a few blocks away, and the room was very clean and comfortable. However, when it came time to go to sleep, our room was extremely loud, as the wall of our headboard backed up to the club, FloBama, directly next door. The music went on until after 2:00 AM, and the traffic noise (e.g., honking horns, motorcycle traffic, screaming and yelling) continued for hours later. I regret staying here and advise others against it as well. There should be a warning so guests can expect to be unable to sleep until after 3 AM. The money we paid for the room was extremely overpriced, and I sure wish we could receive a refund or discounted rate, as we were unable to sleep at all and left before 7 AM, so we could come home to TN and sleep in our own quiet bed.
