I needed a couple of long tables for an event today and Googled "table rental". The Party Place was one of the options. Online, I reserved and paid for a couple of tables. Showed up this morning at the store and the tables (which were in good condition) were ready. The person waiting on me (I think the owner) helped bring them and put them in my car. Price for the daily rental (pick up today and return tomorrow) was very reasonable. My event was short, so I returned the items this afternoon. Smooth process. Highly recommend for equipment rentals. Had an opportunity to walk around the small store, which has a supply of party items, cards and lots of balloons. Will very likely shop here in the future for my rental and party needs. read more

I yelped search a few places where I could get a balloon arrangement for my good friend's small, impromptu baby shower. The Party Place popped up with 5 stars...and I see why! The shop is located at the end of a small shopping center, and inside is neatly organized, well stocked decorations and items for all occasions. I couldn't decide which kind of arrangement I wanted, but Jones (shop owner) was attentive and patient as I inquired by the different baby shower themed balloon options. He was able to perfectly create my small arrangement within 15 mins, and they were fabulously simple! My good friend and her family absolutely loved the arrangement, and repeatedly asked where I got them from...because "obviously, that's NOT party city", said my friend's husband :) I highly recommend this quaint shop!! read more

I needed to find some party supplies for a Make A Wish reveal. I made it very clear that I would return what wasn't used. Brought back what I didn't use (in wrappers) and was told they don't have returns. What party store doesnt do returns? They claim they no returns in on the receipt but it's only when you click on the full receipt. They claim no returns because of Covid. Yet the staff don't mask, so it's not really about Covid. Very small store and limited selection, but prices are extreme. A large number balloon is $13. Yes, $13. And, the balloon selection and kids party decor are especially limited. Please don't go here thinking you're going to find what you need for a themed fest - it's not happening and the prices are ridiculous for cheaply made Chinese products. Parking is in a small strip mall but you'll likely have to walk across the parking lot to get to the store as space is very limited in front of this particular shop. This was my first time shopping at The Party Place today May 30th, 2025 - and it wasn't the most pleasant of experiences. The pro is that I didn't have to wait to have my balloon bouquet made (which consisted of 2 red balloons, a larger spider man balloon, and what I thought was a gold colored jumbo #6 balloon. However, after paying, I turned to talk to the only worker and realized that the #6 balloon he'd just inflated was pink (and this was for my little boy's birthday when he's at the silly stage where "pink is for girls;" note: #6 balloons in blue color were completely out of stock ‍). Shocked by the realization that the 6 balloon was clearly pink and he'd inflated it knowing that, I asked him what the balloon color was and he said "it's rose gold." I apologized letting him know that the packaging made it appear to be the color gold and asked if there's anyway we could change it. He told me that he'd already inflated the pink #6 balloon. Flabbergasted, I explained that it didn't go with Spider-Man and that my 6 year old boy would have a fit with a pink balloon, stressing that I need a gold balloon and the significance of the mistake. He told me there were blue color large number balloons and I spun the display to show him that they were out of stock. He told me that he'd inflated the balloon, which was a cost to him. I told him that I really didn't know it was pink and that I needed a gold balloon. I could tell he was upset so I said I'm sorry you'll just have to charge me extra or the difference (for the helium or balloon), but I really need the gold version of the balloon. When I pulled a gold #6 from the display rack, I made a point to ask him to confirm that it was actually gold (and not the rose gold). He finished the bouquet and tried to ring me up again for the $32 I'd just paid before he started working on the bouquet PLUS the extra $12 for the gold #6 I needed! This is pernicious because they don't inflate until you've paid! So, I informed him that I'd already paid $32.60 for the bouquet (yes, 4 balloons cost nearly $33!). He corrected the tab and still charged me full price for the gold #6! I paid for the gold balloon I needed and left the store informing him that no I didn't need the pink #6 and to please donate it to a customer with a birthday girl in the family. He responded that he didn't know what he was going to do with it. ‍. Again, this is a very, very tiny shop with very limited options. Because Party City in Rockville closed permanently, this is the only place in the area to buy any party supplies but I'd bet that you're much better off going to Safeway or Giant (supply is more equivalent to a grocery store). Or, plan well ahead of time and shop for what you need online. Because customer service wasn't up to par, I won't be returning this store. Also, I overheard him tell another customer that they don't do returns - only exchanges. And, out in the parking lot, one of the cheap smaller red balloons in the bouquet popped while walking to my car in the lot - before I could even get to my car. Yeah that's gonna be a no for me, bruh! read more

I wish I could comment on the actual party supplies, but I couldn't even get in the door! I went during business hours on Sunday and the door was locked. The sign on the door said they'd return at 12:30 but it was 12:45 by then. I called and left a message. I decided to wait until 1, when I did see an employee return to the store. I tried opening the door again, but the employee would not let me in or tell me when they'd open back up. I drove back home and they returned my call, expecting me to still be waiting for them. There was no acknowledgment that they wasted my time. Not a great way to establish trust with a customer. Definitely don't want to spend money with this place and be dependent on them for a party! Outstanding! I placed my order over the phone because I just couldn't get to the store. What a pleasant experience! Jennifer asked all the right questions and sent photos of their "balloon wall" for me to choose the foil balloon I would like in our balloon bouquets. The Mylar balloons were beautiful; they had a pearl-like subtle sheen to them. Primary colors but a bit more "adult" than the primary colors you'd find at a kids party. Jennifer designed the two smaller bouquets to match the foil balloon. And best of all, for a very reasonable fee, delivered the balloons to our house the day of our event. What a huge service! Came to The Party Place two years in a row now to get balloons for C's birthday. The owners are very friendly and very customer focused. I mentioned I needed to pick up the balloons the night before the party, but was worried the latex balloons would deflate by early morning. The owner mentioned adding Hi-Float in the inside of the balloon would make it last for days. Never heard of it before, but gave it a shot anyhow. The latex balloons lasted for days. Definitely worth the little extra! Love how they offer to help load the balloons in your car. Now that's service! Prices are reasonable and comparable to other party stores in the area. I realized that I have been here 4 or 5 times in the past, I've always found what I needed or something even more unique than what I wanted, got great customer service, and walked out happy. On my latest visit, I needed 2 mylar balloons to take to the airport to welcome a family emigrating from the UK and a special birthday balloon for their son turning 7. I found a balloon that had a simple 'Welcome' on it and a birthday balloon filled with emojis -- the 7 yo is crazy about emojis, it was even better than the transformer I had hoped to find. As I looked around while the balloons were being filled, I spotted a Frozen 2 tabletop set. Perfect for the 4 yo soon to be 5 next week. The clerk was assisting someone else, but as soon as I returned, she asked her if it was okay to finish my transaction.
