OK I will grant that most people don't got looking for musketeer hats when its not halloween (or possibly ever, for shame!) and the shop is quite small so they can't really stock that many costumes, but I think small businesses like this could do more for local custom. In fairness the guy in the shop did suggest other places to try, after I said 'well it looks like I'll get it off the internet so, just trying to give my custom to local business', but after I left I thought he really could have offered to order it in for me. I mean they must have costume suppliers who could have these things. I'm not in a hurry, but maybe that's too much hassle. Still though they seemed to have lots of nice balloons and things which I'm sure are great. They're just no help for me trying to sort out my Dogtanian costume!

We called quite a few party stores in Dublin and they were unwilling to blow up our balloons even as paying customers unless we bought the balloons there. No such issue at Celebrations. We had very courteous staff who blew up all the balloons (there was quite a lot) in under 40 minutes. They never once complained and even offered to order us a cab. The shop itself also offers costumes and other party supplies. Highly recommend.

We had called ahead but not booked a time, but nonetheless they accommodated us requesting 40 regular balloons and 6 huge balloons-- a job which was to take 45 mins. We fecked off for Starbucks and left them to their work. When we came back the place was full of red and they had organised them into bunches to make it easy to bring back-- which was no mean feat. They even offered to call us a taxi if we needed that, which was excellent service! Everyone in the place that we came across was just lovely, and I'd definitely be inclined to come back for other supplies in the future as a result.

You can tell the higher quality wigs by the packaging and whether it's heat resistant or not. They even had some hats like brown top hats and fezzes. Fezzes are cool. (Bonus points if you get what I mean)

Still, drop by on a weekend in February (even better, a week day) and have the place to yourself -perfect for lengthy posing and trialling of witch hats, top hats and day glow tresses!

It's a very small shop and they're very busy at Hallowe'en (as you'd guess) so if you have a party coming up, best to get in there early or book your costume. There's also the chance that it could be a bit smelly or a bit sweaty if it's something that comes with a head... only to be expected though I guess! Costumes are about €60 a pop.

Further investigation (that is, going into the shop) revealed that it is an 'events' shop, with supplies for weddings (confetti and such), knick-knacks for making flowers displays, funeral items, communion knick knacks and so on. I've never seen such a range of ribbons for all occasions. I didn't buy anything but it seems to be really well-supplied for all the major life events an Irish person could have.

But this store gave me so many ideas for different projects. At the moment there is a ton of Christmas stuff in but they have everything from fake leaves, fake flowers, oasis, oasis wreaths, twig wreaths, feathers in a variety of shades and even peacock, ( was thinking of using these for a hat or head piece) and a whole load more, and to top it off they are extremely reasonably priced. On the negative side tho it is not very convenient to get to. But I can live with that :)

They are more personal, less tacky and not as shamefully priced. But if you totally disagree, the Card Company has so many choices with bees and butterflies that your head will most likely explode. The products here are quality. They stock some fabulously luxurious individual greeting cards. They are tad expensive, but they are all handmade and almost probably each unique. So if you really want to impress, the cards in here will. The sales assistant seemed a bit miffed when she saw me waiting at the till though. She had the stop what she was doing to serve me... can you imagine.... ;)

Other accoutrements that can be customized are favor boxes, stickers and goodie bags. One thing that I really love about Daintree is its focus on DIY. No matter what your style, color scheme or theme is, Daintree has pretty much everything you will need to create beautiful stationary. From paper to ribbon to tools and advice, they've got it all covered. The one thing I would say that Daintree could improve upon is the range of their other items - such as notebooks, albums, streamers and other such gifty things. I think that if they had more of these things the store could attract a wider range of clientele other than brides-to-be and new moms. Still, I think what they've done in the space is pretty magical.
