I told her that I'm a customer, & she shouldn't talk this way to me, & that I'm not buying anything due to her bad attitude. So, it's definitely not a "welcome" center. These towns along Rt. 66, get visitors from all over the world, especially now, with the 100 year anniversary. The Rt. 66 Welcome center could improve by having someone who is pleasant, and helpful, to provide information about Tucumcari, so travelers can plan their time there. So, skip this place, if you're looking for souvenirs. Some of the restaurants (like Del's) and the vintage motels have gift items that they sell. Or, try the Curio shop across the street.

Inside, the shop was packed with T-shirts, Route 66 trinkets, and spray paint cans ready for tagging the nearby cars. It had just the right mix of cheesy charm and roadside magic.
