Got a bunch of fresh oysters, some crab meat and some shrimp. The oyster of course we ate right away. The shrimp and the crab meat we've had for dinner later that day. Quality was great. Fresh, smooth and creamy oysters. The crab meat was lovely sweet, full of flavours. With the shrimp we made some tasty seafood dip. Really a nice place to grab some fresh and tasty seafood. Friendly people, fair prices.

They're tiny pots of unseasoned boiled and chilled seafood from about 2.5-4£ a pot depending on whether it's prawns, mussels, cockles, whelks, crayfish, etc. Perfectly size for sampling if you can't commit or want to sample them all. There are condiments available for you to season after, but I prefer to eat them as-is, since plain boiled fresh seafood is already have their own briny flavor. Provided are forks, toothpicks, salt, pepper, mayo, Marie Rose sauce (ketchup mayo).

We went to this well talked up restaurant during our short 5 day holiday on this beautiful island…read more We were staying in a beautiful cottage nearby and were excited to check out the place and fill ourselves with great, fresh sea food. I must say that overall we were a bit disappointed and that our experience did not reflect at all what other reviews here and elsewhere have related. Upon arrival you find yourself a bit confused about where to go. On the left is the restaurant proper with small groups of people eating and looking at you like you shouldn't be there. Then a waitress notices you, gives us the same look and took us to the bar/waiting lounge area for us to grab a drink and look at the menu. That bit is fine and rather agreeable actually. I wasn't balled over by the choice of beer but the wine list is attractive and we enjoyed our wine. Shown to our table we were quickly served our starters. My partner had been dreaming about getting some oysters for a long time so was really looking forward to it. They also grill the oysters with welsh cheese and I thought that I would give that a try, feeling curious. The standard oysters tasted good and fresh enough but mine were just flooded with a massive dollop of gooey cheese which is not quite what I was hoping for as I could not taste any oyster which were a lukewarm texture thing under what was bog standard cheddar that could have come from Tesco. We then ordered the lobster thermidor. I never had lobster thermidor before and to be fair rarely order lobster as it's an expensive shellfish. But I have had lobster before, albeit cooked differently. What we got was rather tasteless chewy chunks of lobster meat flooded in a butter and shallot sauce. LOADS of sauce. I don't really want to sound like a whingebag ( I know, big fail) but in a place like Anglesey which should be swarming with superb fresh seafood, having this kind of food on a plate on the sea side is just too disappointing. Especially from a place that claims to do it justice. To alleviate things somewhat, the service did improve upon the initial reception and our waitress was very attentive and patient. I just hope we came on a bad day but considering the bill I don't feel like having another go anytime soon.

In the part of the hotel, I stayed in they did have an elevator, and your stay comes with a breakfast. They do require you to check in before 8 PM so if you're gonna be late, you need to make sure you make arrangements with them. I did pay a little extra for the Seaview and let me tell you it was well worth it. I went in May so the days were very long. The sun came up at 5 AM and didn't set until after 9:30 PM. Because of the view, it was definitely a brighter room, but I did have a sleep mask so for light sleepers, I would recommend that. The hotel room was a nice size. The bed was actually fairly comfortable, even though it was two twin beds pushed together. I did have a little blip with housekeeping, not replacing towels, but other than that I enjoyed my stay. The pier is within walking distance there's a couple of grocery stores lots of restaurants lots of shops. I believe it took me less than 10 minutes to get to the Conwy Castle.

Even so it was obvious that a lot of the customers are regulars, which is a good sign. The menu seems a little more diverse than your average Indian, with starters (£3-6) like Asian BBQ: marinated lamb chops, chicken tikka, shish kebab and duck tikka; Monk fish marinated in spices and cooked with spring onions & peppers garnished with tomatoes & coriander; Monk fish Goan style in a sweet and hot sauce in coriander, herbs & green chillies; Coley dish marinated in special spices & buttered. Mains (£7-12 plus rice) include Munger Tanger: chargrilled chicken cooked in a hot sweet and sour, combined with chunks of onion and green peppers , lightly stir fried in a tamarind and mango sauce; South Indian Mugh Balti: Tandoori chicken off the bone with minced lamb medium Balti spices; Kashmir your choice of meat spiced with peaches and bananas. I nibbled on poppadums whilst I was choosing from the menu which came with a better than average selection of 6 onions and chutney dishes. I followed this with Lamb Chaat starter (barbequed in clay oven then spiced in exotic Chaat Massalla sauce) which was nice, and then Naga Naga Lamb (succulent lamb or chicken pieces cooked with special Naga chilli pickle, crushed garlic, cumin seeds & ground mild spices which was quite hot and I ate with a naan. The food was excellent and quite spicy. The service was friendly but a little slow: but given how busy the place was on this Charity night I think that was understandable. The restaurant is on the first floor above some shops, but there is a phone number saying if you need assistance with access to call a phone number. The only parking is street parking, but that isn't usually a big problem in the evenings. Storngly recommended.
