So I will just say that it's beautiful and worth the visit. I especially liked the Rose garden and I don't feel all girly for saying it. I swear the actual rose garden area was more length and width then a football field. Each bundle of roses were as bright and colorful as if they just blossomed. I couldn't even come close to pronouncing half of their names but it was kind of cool to learn that they had some instead of you know Red, Yellow, so on. Oh and a red squirrel tried to take my hat, watch out for those little thieves!!

A sense of peace mixed with a classic atmosphere. When you first come into the park, it's hard not to get distracted by the cathedral being on the right hand side of the entrance. there is a Liberty Bell, by Vivienne Roche occupies a prominent spot in the park. The history of this park is very interesting. It is believed that this is the site where St. Patrick baptized the first Irish Christians. So, it's the place where Christianity was believed to have started in Ireland.

We taxied up from city center to Phoenix Park and it wasn't too far. There are local bars and such not too far from the park if you need a snack or brew before hitting the park. We were told that this park sometimes hosts concerts and some major events, even that Obama had visited and spoke during one of his trips. The park is lush, spacious and with lots of nature to see. My favorite thing about this park is the free roaming deer that you can see. They are extremely friendly and gentle. It's so unique to get an experience like this to walk with deer and to have them be so comfortable that you can approach them and that there were so many. A beautiful place to spend an hour or two in nature and not far from Dublin City, worth checking out.

The park is one of the largest enclosed recreational spaces in any European capital city. 1700 acres, it's home to the Dublin Zoo, the Flower Gardens and more. Lots of walking paths. Lots of monuments including the Wellington. Lots of meadows and woodlands and landscaped spots. The park is peaceful even with the buses running along its main avenue. Whenever I'm in Dublin, I like coming to this park not only to visit Oscar but to walk the grounds. The park has been in existence since the late 1700s and is surrounded by Georgian homes. The green space is lovely and spacious and has an area for kids to play as well. It's a nice park for taking a little respite from the stressors of the day. It also has a playground and sculpture trail. The Merrion Square Park is the most intact Georgian Square located in the heart of the city and it's surrounded by all kinds of artistic and creative institutions like the National Art Gallery of Ireland, the Archaeological and Natural History sections of the Irish Traditional Music Archive, Royal Society of Antiquaries, the Irish Architectural Archive, just to name a few In the middle of the Georgian buildings, Merrion Square Park is located. The park is surrounded on three sides by Georgian redbrick houses. On the fourth side, it's surrounded by government buildings, the Natural History Museum, Leinster House and the National Gallery of Ireland. To me the best place to enter the park is at the northwest corner near #2 where you will come upon, what in my opinion, is one of the greatest examples of a modern sculptural portrait to be found anywhere. Here is Oscar Wilde in all his dandified glory. Fun fact, the Merrion Square Park was originally a private garden for residents of the square. Luckily, now everybody can enjoy a walk through the gorgeous park.

Hellooooooo, Bushy Park!!…read more I really enjoy weekday runs here. On the weekends I like to get out of the city and go on longer runs or hikes, but hBonestly Bushy Park is great 7 days a week. There are all types of people attracted to the park: Families Solo runners/joggers/walkers Group runners/joggers/walkers Triathalon groups Bootcamps Youth lounging on the lawns Skaters/boarders/bikers Cyclists People who want fresh air There is a little bit of Bushy Park to go around for everyone! I like to run through the path with the creek and water, but also do interval training around the stairs and grassy hills. There is alot to be said about a park that's free that can provide exercise worthy of a gym! When I go for a run in the morning I find the the fellow park enthusiasts to be friendly, regulars, and welcoming. We have a common bond of getting up early and taking to the fresh air :) In the afternoon and evenings the park can be easier, and while still very friendly and welcoming, people are more in their own zone and we just make room and share space. The sunnier the day the busier!

This park is great and offers a host of different areas. The woods is my favourite part, especially the ruinous shell house and the big over grown roots which i scramble up and down. Keep an eye out for badger and squirrel sets that are dotted around the woods too. The stake park was awesome but now there are no skaters only BMX users! Damn them for getting rid of the BMX park in Marley Park. But a few of use skaters can find some lips and rims free usually the hour before parks close when the BMX bandits go home to finish their homework. The stepping stones are great craic in the summer and a great place to picnic and cool off in the not so dirty water. But on of the best things to do at the river is to wait real still and keep your eyes out for the herons and kingfishers that can be spotted feeding off the minnows in the water. I walked here all the way from the hotel I was staying at - Hotel Clayton. The walk was quite nice, the park is located near some quaint neighborhoods. There are several entrances to the park so it isn't hard to miss. The park goes across streets so you have to cross certain parts of the park in order to fully see the WHOLE PARK. They have a bunch of flower beds that are really pretty as you walk thru the park. There is a little pond area where swans populate - I saw a couple people feeding them but I now know that isn't the best thing. So just FYI; it doesn't help them if you feed them. Even during a weekday - the park had a lot more people than I thought it would. And it was a gloomy day too - but let's face it - it's Ireland, it's gloomy sometime during the day everyday. lol. All in all - a great park!

Still a fan of the all weather courts chiefly because the space is surrounded by fencing so I don't have to run after any stray shots... I'm not the Maradona I once was... Ah age is a cruel thing as is copious amounts of beer over the years.
