    Great stuff and good price

A varied selection of stalls with some really good offerings such as llewellyn with their vinegars and ciders. We quickly spent around 50 euro as we strolled along. My only complaint is that the price of some stalls are frankly exorbitant and hard to justify regardless of its provenance. Parking impossible so we parked at the pavilion car park about 1 km away.

This place has everything you want or need from a farmers market... Amazing selection of hot food stalls, BBQ, Asian, pizza, falafel, oh oh oh and ice cream! Grab a nice coffee and wander, some fantastic fresh produce stalls from fruit, veg, breads, organic meats, spices plus a super selection of great handmade with love gifts! On a summer day, nothing pleases me more that to stroll down here, grabs some eats & picnic up on the grass for a lazy hour or two... Finish the trip off with some treats for my pantry!

My Sunday staple ! What I love about this market is their commitment to open regardless of the weather. It's one of the largest food markets I've been to in Dublin if not the largest. It has pretty much every type of food including fresh fruit & veg, meat, chineese, Indian, fresh bread, pizza, coffee, handmade chocolates, pastries, olives, books, flowers, massage, glass & crystal ....... And lots more ! The park itself has recently had a facelift with lots of new seating areas, playground and toilets making the market even more attractive. The old Pavillion building at the back of the park is now a Fallon & Byrne if you'd rather something more formal !

This market is a farmer, prepared foods, and artisan market, and when I visited in early February 2014, there must have been more than 40 or 50 individual stands that featured international foods cooked by local businesses, fresh local meat and fish, piles of unique and gorgeous fresh veg, free range eggs, desserts and breads of all kinds, custom muesli, and assorted olives. In terms of prepared foods and snacks, there was an almost impossible assortment from which to choose, including falafel, Irish BBQ, Crepes (savory and sweet), Indian foods, meat pies that would make M&S blush, Tai, Japanese, pizza, and of course, some good, hot coffee or tea. You can also stock your pantry with unique and flavorful teas, jams and chutneys, or "cordial" juices made from fruit that week. Or, stock up on other things to keep your home cozy no matter the time of year: wool gloves, hats and socks, inspiring artwork, and other artisan goods round out the market experience. When you are done with the market, walk off your indulgent appetite with a stroll down to the lighthouse. This is great individual, date, or family entertainment in a lovely setting. Sundays all year from 11 am - 4 (16:00) pm.

Lovely even on cold winter days! We pop over on Sundays as often as we can. It's right in Dun Laoghaire so perfect for lunch after a walk on the pier and Teddys is just around the corner for an ice cream afterwards. There are stalls selling crafts, jewellery, bikes, clothes, books as well as various food stalls. We've bought beautiful handmade pottery in the past and my parents bought lovely paintings of Dun Laoghaire that were painted by a local artist. Some of the things you can bring home include fruit and veg, apple juice, olives, baked goods and meats. There are hot food stalls selling noodles, tapas, curries, pizzas, charcoal burgers and sausages and crepes. A little bit of everything! Something to cater to everyone's tastes. Bring a picnic blanket in summer and get down early. In winter grab some hot apple cider to warm yourself up

Perfect place to visit on a sunny day, and it's very dog friendly. Forget people watching, the puppy patrolling is where it's at! There are plenty of food stalls to choose from! It's basically like taking a trip around the world within a park - so much variety. Highly recommend the falafel stand and Roy's Gourmet Sausages for a nice lunch! You can also pick up coffee, sweets, fresh veg, and lots more!

My view may be coloured by the sunshine and the company but I really enjoyed my trip to the Dun Laoghaire farmer's market! This market runs each Sunday in the People's Park and is particularly suited to a summer's day with a great location on the pier. It's easily accessible by DART-less than 5 mins walk from Sandycove Glasthule station and makes for a lovely afternoon out. A great range of stalls was scattered around the park with everything from fruit and veg to baked goods and meat to handcrafts. We munched on fresh crépes (Nutella and banana-mmm), sampled muffins and scones from various bakery stalls and succumbed to fudge from the Truffle Fairy stall. The Bailey's white chocolate one is divine! We struggled to resist all the ice-cream stalls and the freshly toasted nuts. It was difficult to choose what to eat with the array of cooked foods-Indian, falafels, organic chicken, sausages....another visit will be required I think! Luckily the location means you get to wander along the pier afterwards to burn some calories. So whether you're north (Howth) or south, there's a seaside Sunday market for you :-)

I love a good farmer's market as I can fill myself up on samples and get to taste all the yummy expensive food for free. This place is no exception, I had cakes, breads and dips, jams, chocolate and olives and there were plenty of meats to sample as well. The market itself has a good selection of stalls selling lots of fresh organic fruits and veg as well as homemade treats and sweet stuff. There is plenty of green space to sit back and have a picnic and there are benches and other areas to chill out as well as free public toilets. There are also a few stalls selling decorative items as well. Something for everyone I suppose. There are some really good coffee stalls too which are well worth queuing up for. The items here are a little pricy but you are playing for the quality of the ingredients and helping out local businesses, so worth it in the end I think.

Small but great market to go on a Sunday for lunch. Already had the falafel wrap and lamb tajine. Both were very good and the portions are just enough to leave you room for dessert. Had an amazing apple brioche on a stand selling only cake - fluffy and not too sweet

    Super!! Banoffee vegan icecream

It gets busy on Sundays for the Farmers Market(11-4) which has a great and varied selection of food from all over. Can be a bit twee, but that goes with the territory at these things. It's not just restricted to food though, there are some cracking bookstalls and a few craft ones too. This is where I discovered Paulo Coelho, I'm in debt. Now, to business. Traditionally there are three days a year in which Dun Laoghaire stops hovering on the verge of crap and makes the great leap forward into being the greatest place in the world. The Festival of World Cultures, although it's just two days this year(29/30th Aug), is the best weekend in Dublin. Sun, sea, hippies, pints and banging samba drums all for free(except pints of course, but where there's a will...). It's pure awesome, and the Park is one of the festivals main hubs. Love it.

It boasts some cute little tearooms and one of the few Sunday farmers markets on the southside (though I'm open to correction on this one). There's a mellow buzz in the air during the market and even if you're not hungry, you're sure to snack on some of the fudge, falafel or fruit that the traders have to offer before leaving. Tends to be happy families in here on a sunny Sunday and there is often some impromptu entertainment in the offing too. It's picturesque and nautically themed with a boat overflowing with flowers at the entrance.

They've got local food merchants selling all kinds of things from crepes to jams, etc. Everything smells so good it's so hard to know where to begin. They've also got some crafty sort of stalls, which are great for a unique gift for a friend's birthday. I have to admit that my favourite stall is the used book one. I got a JD Salinger book there for a euro!! I can't pass a book store without lusting after half the books in the shop, but when they come with such a great price tag I really can't help myself. I'm just upset that I need bus fare home otherwise I would have bought more!

Thank you for the recommendation, Fodor's! (yes, I bought their travel guide like a true tourist.)…read more My friends and I wanted to try some Ireland oysters because we heard they were supposedly super fresh. We were running out of time on our hunt to find them when I realized, 'I've got my trusty guidebook!!' And that's how we ended up here. It was 12 Euros for 6 oysters and a glass of wine. Since there were four of us, the lady was nice enough to give us 4 cups of wine (yes, plastic cups - it's a farmer's market, what do you expect!) They even threw in an extra oyster! SO FRESH! SO BIG! (cue that's-what-she-said joke). Compared to NYC oysters, these babies looked like they were on steroids! They also have this dipping sauce (had onions and was really vinegar-y, but good. But if you don't like the sour, you should just take the oyster straight.) Didn't eat anything else from other stands because we just had lunch. However, I believe they had shish kebabs, crepes, and bread. Oh and FYI - Sheridans Cheesemongers was there (saw this place on Anthony Bourdain when he went to Dublin so thought this might be worth mentioning). Definitely check out this farmer's market!
