It's crowded and smells like dog food. The stock is pretty good - they've got loads of baskets and beds in lots of different sizes, an especially good selection actually. My own dog's had a few from here as she's got bigger and if I can take her constant inclination to return to her bed as a positive review rather than a sign of her inherent laziness then things are looking good for Hurlingham. The chap that works here is really nice too so pop in if you want/need some pet essentials for your animals.

Worst was that the groomer did not tell me!! When I went back to show them what happened to my dog and talk about it they simply said 'usually the groomer will tell us if an accident has happened but sometimes they don't'. No offer of any sort of compensation or gesture to make up the stress that my dog and I both went through. Yelp contacted me to say the salon had complained about my review. Now I see that Yelp took off my earlier review. It seems we can't trust reviews anymore if the notice board is only going to contain a selection of reviews.

I purchased two very pricey dog beds and one began separating at the seams within a year of weekend use. I reached out to their customer service and after a week of back and forth (!) they offered 10% off my next purchase. This type of service is so confusing -- had they just replaced the bed (which would've cost them 50$ at most), a customer would've been saved and I wouldn't be writing this. I am a huge supporter of quality and design, but good service must go with that.

Dogs, cats, birds, fish, hamsters, ferrets, rabbits, gerbils, rats and mice - Northcote Pet Stores has supplies for your little furry/scaled/feathered baby. Of interest to me particularly are the rat supplies. Northcote has two types of rat food, which is pretty surprising; I'm lucky to find one type of rat food in most pet stores. However, the store doesn't sell any litter appropriate for rats (it needs to be dustless, so woodchips simply will not do). There are at least seven different types of small-animal cages available for purchase; however, again, none of them are suitable for rats. If you have a more commonly kept pet, Northcote Pet Stores will have you covered for all your needs, and its prices are reasonable. For me, I still need to purchase things online and from other pet stores for my ratty babies, so Northcote simply can't be my go-to place for pet supplies. But it's still pretty damn good, and the staff is always friendly.

When I had my staffy dog, they would order her favourite toys in for her! What I like most about this pet shop is that the full time staff really care about the animals in the shop - and will happily give as much advice as they can. I've seen them refuse to sell fish to people that don't have tanks set up etc and to me that is the mark of a good pet shop - caring about the animals more than the customers - as it should be!! They have a variety of livestock in the shop, either for sale (guinea pigs, rabbits, reptiles, hamsters, birds, fish etc.) or to "help" customers (a beautiful cat and several lovely dogs). The livestock are always healthy and live in clean environments. Its is always a pleasure to shop here and i would not buy a pet from anywhere else!

I would recommend this place over Hurlingham Pet Shop based on variety. We bought a squeaky toy and porky oinks for our dog. The staff was friendly and helpful. They also have various types of reptiles and fishes downstairs. Upstairs is for the birds, cats, dogs, etc. Hours M-W 10-6p Thurs - Closed Fri-Sat 10-6pm Sun - Closed
