This place is soo cool. I just love the vibes. i came across the website last week. And i couldnt stop going to it and scrolling through it. The plants were like nothing I have ever seen before such a vast array of exotic plants. Every year for mothers Day my husband asks what i want i dont want massages, jewelry and def not flowers. I just want plants. I am so glad we went and visited this place I walked out with quite a few early Mothers Day gifts. I was on cloud nine that day and still am when i walk past these beautiful plants. I have shopped plants at many places every year and this I would say is the best selection I have ever seem. Wow! Our journey began online, seeing what plants may be of use around the house. After a bit of research, we made a list of 10 plants. Next we looked online for a local small business to work with (buying local is so important!) and after a little more research we landed on The Plant Project. How lucky we were! Juno was amazing, she took time to listen to our concern's, what we were looking for and even indulged our list! They had about 7/10 of the plants we were looking for, and Juno talked us into one we hadn't even considered! All in all we walked out with 4 plants, a smile and a well spent afternoon. Came here to purchase plants for my home and was pleasantly surprised. When I arrived only the front and middle rooms were available to view at the time. There were still plenty options to choose from. The customer service was amazing and the young lady (didn't get her name) was very helpful in answering my questions and giving me direction on plants for a partial plant newbie. I ended up purchasing a Snake Plant, Pink Syngonium, Neon Potho, and beautiful base for the Pink Syngonium. I already have a Snake Plant at home so these new plants is a great addition! The pricing was fair and I am very satisfied. I would definitely recommend visiting this quaint spot and making a purchase. read more

What a gem!!! The Plant Project is the First Black Woman Owned Plant Shop in Dallas. Woot woot!!! I've walked by this place for months and finally went in! As you walk in to this beautifully restored uptown home, the air is crisp and clean from all the plants! They have price points for everyone! I bagged 3 little plant babies for $6! The employees are very helpful without being overly helicoptering which I think can sometimes be a difficult balance, but they've mastered it. The employee even offered to repot my plants for me and nicely packaged/bagged them! A must see!!! read more

One of Dallas's gems. A wonderful and thriving small business. The owner was patient and kind. I've been coming to the Plant Project for close to 3 years now and have never been disappointed. Definitely worth experiencing yourself. I will say --you do need to do your own due diligence for the care your plants' needs. They are here to sell lovely plants they've fostered-- not to educate you on said plants. Although it may be a perk-- please know it is not a requirement for this establishment. One of my favorite places to shop in Dallas! Woman/Black owned, unique finds and if you're lucky you might run into Bree and/or her sweet mom. If you get a chance to do a floral arrangement or succulent workshop they're also super fun - great for solo dates, couples and friends group. Highly recommend! read more

A plant lover's dream! My friend and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to "just look," but fell in love with the plants they had and each left with a beautiful new plant baby. Juno was so friendly and helpful, teaching me a lot about the new calathea I was leaving with and how to care for some of my existing plants, which are still adjusting to the DFW weather after living in the desert for years. I was so excited to visit this shop and support a Black business owner that I brought my cousin (who's local to Dallas) and my mom (flew in from North Carolina). I wish we could say we had a better experience. THE GOOD 1. The shop was nice and quaint. Lots of plants everywhere. Gave me a Caribbean shop vibe. 2. Black owned business THE BAD 1. I was embarrassed by the lack of attention the 3 of us received, especially after I encouraged the visit. We got no suggestions, no help while looking, and were invisible. The owner wasn't there. There was a man (I assume her husband), and 2 other employees. Between the 3 of them, we had to keep tracking them down to answer questions, while one followed a couple around to help them choose plants. Funny thing is...we came in BEFORE them and specifically asked for the same assistance. The shop was busy with customers in and out, but not too busy to follow this couple around. 2. I couldn't even get the name of the two plants I did purchase. We had to "ask" for bags for the small plants. Bags, y'all! . My mom had to stop another employee to ask if they delivered...we got a "yea" but no business card, no website address. My mom & cousin had to ask for a damn business card. 3. My own mother told me to go back in and make them tell me the plant name & how to care for it, after seeing how disappointed I was. The only one around, at this time, was the couple follower (couple bought 1 plant to our 4 plants ). She just told me a name. Now, unless I'm no botanist, so throwing out the scientific name of plants is NOT helpful. I asked if she could right it down. I didn't even ask about how to care for it since it seemed they were so unenthusiastic about helping me and my family. THE UGLY 1. This was my birthday - the exact day! And I chose to have brunch followed by supporting this Black Owned business. I even brought people I love with me. Had I known we would've been ignored this much, I would've gone to a White owned shop. 2. The plant I really loved (the one where the employee wasn't even going to write the name down until I asked )....well, it's dying now. I even spent the money to repot it & buy top grade soil. What an awful "birthday" experience. P.S. When we arrived, I told the guy it was my birthday and I really wanted to support there business. I guess he could give a 's ass too. No suggestions, no "here's a free flower," not even a happy birthday. I guess my expectations were just too high. read more

I've shopped here twice before and I have had AMAZING customer service and an AMAZING experience. But, the owner has an extremely nasty attitude, terrible communication skills and awful customer service. I checked their Instagram & website before I left, went over there today around 2p, when I got there the doors were both locked. There was no note on the door. So, I tried to call & could not get through. I left, but I sent a message on Instagram as it's odd for businesses to be closed during business hours with no notice. I suggested that it would be courteous to notify customers in some way when your business will be closed. As it was an inconvenience to drive over there for nothing (I don't live nor work in the neighborhood). The owner was NASTY--called me rude, said I was trying to "school" her. Passed by this place for about year before I decided to stop in (took me about half a year to figure out what it was. They may want to invest in larger signage). Their inventory was separated between two attached houses (?) but they carry some pretty cool stuff and it's a very unique setup. Not unreasonable prices for their plants like some places can do. Was picking out a succulent and telling the guy working the store my sob story about how I was replacing a dead aloe plant at home, and he tossed in some plant food at the end for free so I could attempt to bring my plant back to life. It was so sweet I didn't have the heart to tell him it was way past the point of saving. Overall great experience! If you're looking to fill you place with fun houseplants, I'd stop here first! read more

This place is absolutely the cutest!! Everything about it is lovely, the house, location, selection of plants, the interior!! I truly cannot believe some of the reviews. I was greeted by both owners, the minute I walked in. And not just greeted- they both genuinely wanted to know me - was it my first time in the store, was I looking for something in particular etc. I feel like I made best friends with both of them within minutes. The shop is very cute and there's a great selection of plants, so I hate that I had to cross this off my list. The staff outside of the owner is wonderful! However the interaction with the owner was enough for me to never return again. I was so excited to support the Plant Project as they opened in Uptown. I have shopped here twice and the second time, I was unfortunately charged incorrectly. I did not receive a receipt for my transaction and when I emailed, I received a receipt quickly. After pointing out the charge discrepancy, I have not received a response despite following up. Heartless human beings who apparently scam others for money running this business. I was an employee at this establishment. I went above and beyond for this place and treated it with respect as if it was my own. Ended on great terms except when it was time to receive my last paycheck. As I was very patient waiting a week to question where my money was, I heard they were having money issues. I still kindly asked for an update as to when I was going to receive my last paycheck. Between the two owners, the manager, and the account manager, I was ignored, blocked, & never received my money. As I further investigated reviews on this person, I have found out that I am not the first person they have scammed multiple other people and treated with disrespect. For an establishment that not only has children, but preaches about peace and treating others how you would want to be treated, they are disgusting people. Please be cautious where you put your money and energy towards. They are very good at pretending to be nice people! read more

Owner and manager are extremely hostile and rude. Big barney aka Bree Iman Clarke decides to be unprofessional by doing business and only communicating through instagram DM's ,because she refused to give her number. She also refused to send an invoice for renting out space in her rinky-dink cluttered shop. She knew she didn't have enough space to rent out to a mobile cafe but still took the 150 dollars and kicked her outside. That was never the agreement and she expected us to sit out in the 100 degree weather without shade with items that were going to spoil. No ma'am you had us messed up. Before we could contact you to tell you we're leaving your manager aka big bird decided to eavesdrop and tell you first. Which made it seem like we were going to leave without telling you, which wasn't the case. You then had your manager hand her phone to the cafe owner and yelled at her like she's your child. For what though? Is because you didn't hold up your end of the deal and kicked us outside and excepted us burn and let product go bad? She hung up in your face as she should because who do you think you're talking to? You then call back and had your big doofus manager put you speaker so you could continue to disrespect us. While you were in the process of throwing a tantrum two customer walked up and wanted some agua frescas, so we quickly served them, which took literally two minutes. You then facetimed your manager so she could show you what we were doing which was serving our last two customers. So you loudly yelled "THEY NEED TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW I'M CALLING THE COPS!" We were leaving though, so okay dummy call the cops on somebody that PAID you sell their products there. Moral of the story is this is why people don't like to support black owned businesses because you were ghetto, loud and wrong, and overall just unprofessional. Stop reinforcing the negative stereotypes Ms. First Black owned plant shop! Do better and shame on you! read more
