(On what planet is that an incentive for using this place when everywhere else only charges kids?) Secondly my husband and I found a claw hammer in the play area for toddlers and babies. Apart from this benig dangerous when I took it to the lady at front desk I was met with the simplton answer of " Oh how did that get there?" Um..try the fact you had builders in that day as three of them passed me . No apology or asking or checking if children were okay..just placed it behind desk.(Probably for robbing the next customer that arrives.) Cafe which links two play areas ALWAYS has an open door to garage and forecourt outside..Health and safety is dire here. Avoid like the plague. They are not thinking of the kids because if they did none of the above would have happend ! Parents know how quickly kids run off..and an open garage and forecourt in a playarea..dont think so !

Just been to Crunch and Play (New name for Kingdom of Fun)…read more What can I say ........ to start with £9.50 for a 2 year old and a 7 year old to be allowed into the premises for 2 hours, then we realised very quickly that the place was freezing, to the point that I had to go to the car for a jumper (I had goosebumps on my arms) and I hardly wear jumpers. We got a table at the small kiddies area and realised very quickly that it was almost empty, we now know why....... We ordered food as we thought it would have been a nice day out for a play and food for the kids, the menu choice was dependant on where you sat in the building and most of it wasn't available anyway, most of the hot drinks were unavailable too........ My wife had to ask for cutlery as there was none out, when she was given it, there was still small bits of food on some of it (had to clean it ourselves, baby wipes to the rescue !) We eventually got the food ordered and it arrived......not worth the wait, it was cold, some was under cooked, the stuff that wasn't was tasteless, even the kids did not eat it. We had to ask again for the hot drink which eventually turned up (and well needed due to how cold the place was). The couple at the table next to us were complaining too about how cold it was and seemingly the ladies toilet had only cold water running and no paper towels to dry your hands on, that and it was filthy. On the actual soft play areas there were crisp packets stuffed down the edges of the frame and bits of food, I know kids should not be in the frames with food, but it does happen, but it is not difficult for a member of staff to go round and clean up once in a while. For the price of our visit to Crunch and Play, we could have gone to Crooked Glen only a few minutes away and the kids could have had a play and decent food for cheaper then the muck we paid for. When this place was Kingdom of Fun we used to go fairly often, but I have to say, that is a last for Crunch and Play, it is not worth the time or money, at least Kingdom of Fun was for as long as you wanted to be there, the food was good and the premises was at an acceptable temprature. Save your money and go somewhere decent, avoid here !

I visited Time Twisters on a very wet February morning when the schools were off and was told it…read morewas the busiest day they had had. We did have to wait about half an hour to get in but it was well worth the wait. The play area is well designed, fun, educational and good value for money. The play area is great. I had a three year old and a seven year old with me and they both had a ball. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. Although the place was really busy, they were all smiling and nothing was too much bother. And the tables and chairs were good quality and comfortable - unusual in a soft play area! There was a long wait for food because of the volume of lunch orders but the food, when it came was excellent. There was a wonderful choice of healthy options and the portion sizes were generous. When the food arrived it was hot and well presented. The play area was safe and well secure - I had no fears that anyone could get in or out without permission from staff and the toilets were clean and well equipped. I was impressed with the stickers to encourage children to wash their hands too. Overall, I cannot recommend Time Twisters highly enough. Although it is a little pricier than some other soft play areas, it is worth the extra cash as both parents and children have a great time. Well done Time Twisters!

Last Summer I was looking for a group to put my eldest son into during the summer holidays. Myself…read moreand his father were working full time and needed somewhere for him to go. A freind told me about the Excel Sports Academy and recommended it. When I phoned them I initially asked for information. They sent me out an information pack that was easy to understand and full of details, programmes for the children with colourful pictures. I was advised that if I had any other questions, the friendly person on the phone, would help me with anything I needed to know. I booked a place, I was able to get him in for the next week, which was fantastic and on the day took him along. My initial impressions were that I was dropping my son off at a sports day, I didn't tour the Academy, I spoke to one of the gentleman who was friendly and seemed to have a knack with children. I believe all staff are trained and disclosure scotland checked. I only paid for a sports package which was around £150 for the week, this can be a bit steep, but it was well worth it. My son came home full of praise for the place, was extremely tired, and was going on about all the great friends he made. I will definately be enrolling my child this year. I have since found out that you can pay extra for your child to do other activities, from horse riding to ice skating, they even have workshops, and I am sure they can even take your child off for a trip! They have all the sports facilities there and all the sports equipment. This year I am putting my son in for a half day, you have that option as well as a full day, you can put them in for one week or for all the weeks of the summer. Definately a place for the children, when you have no childcare but need to work!
