Recently I was gifted a pre-owned appliance from Plug Appliances. The appliance was properly installed. I was not able to light the pilot light for the oven. I was told by the customer service person that I would be charged $50.00 if it was not installed properly. It was installed properly! The service man (aka the owner) who unprofessionally called me by my first name twice, without permission. After correcting him he proceeded to light the pilot, then exclaimed, "Boom! Pay me $50.00 dollars baby!" I told him I was a senior on a fixed income and I felt it unfair to charge me $50.00 dollars because I did not know to hold the button at the same time to light the pilot. As he continued to call me "baby", he said he was going to invoice me anyway even though there was nothing technically wrong. He could have comped this service. That would have been good customer service. I don't think he would appreciate some service representative or owner of a company calling his mother "baby" while price gouging her. My name ain't baby! As a 69 year old African American Woman on a fixed income I am in support of patronizing Black owned businesses. However, I am not in support of patronizing any business with an owner that is rude, arrogant, unprofessional and is disrespectful in how they speak to their customers and dishonest in how the company handles customers. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Every time I've had a client or myself order from here it's been an issue, with shitty customer service. This is how it works: You order. A lady calls and tells you a six hour time frame for delivery. Doesn't matter if you tell them someone will be there. Driver calls you anytime during that six hour. Not in the morning when they start their shift, whenever they feel like it. Mind you I'm at work so he and leaves me a voicemail at noon, i miss it. So i call back, get voicemail and do the same letting him know he's still, as he was before CONFIRMED. I have someone waiting, they never show up to deliver. I call the office hoping for a resolution and get an attitude and told "I have to repay for a delivery" and wait another week. A customer shouldn't be told "maybe we're just not a right fit". Maybe you guys need to improve on your business procedures since you're in fact providing a product AND A SERVICE. Do yourselves the favor, don't be cheap and go to Home Depot and save yourselves the headache. Cheap prices get you cheap service for sure. read more

I am very disappointed in this company and will never deal with them again I purchased two appliances through them. Both of them are broken and the company has not reached out to do anything with the dryer that I purchased has been broken twice and when I tried to have it repaired by someone else over the phone repairman told me by the. model numbers the dryer was over 15 years old and possible probably no longer available. I then called the plug and spoke to a very rude woman saying they Cell 15 and 20 year old. Appliances and I should have done more research into finding out if my dryer was 15 years old not usually the way it works and was unwilling to resolve my my my dryer situation. I didn't tell her I was going to report them to the Better Business Bureau and write a scathing review and she hung up on me. read more

My experience with The Plug appliances was great! I absolutely love the dryer I purchased. The dryer was brand new with a minor scratch on it. The website listed some of the products they had which is how I found my dryer. I went to the warehouse to purchase which was a very smooth transaction and the sales lady was very nice. They delivered next day, the delivery people were very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. They got my dryer into the basement with no issues. I am so pleased with my purchase and will purchase further items from The Plug Appliances! read more

RUDE AND THREATENING, AND DISHONEST OWNER ROBERT - I purchased a dryer in February 2024 with a 90 warranty, I had issues changing the temperature on the dryer and called customer service to schedule a service. When the technician arrived, he showed me why the temperature wasn't working properly, and how to adjust it. He left with a disturbed disposition because he felt like "nothing was wrong with the machine and I wasted his time". The next month In march, My dryer stopped rotating and I called customer service to schedule a visit for that upcoming Monday. The technician never showed up. The next day on Tuesday, A technician called and said they were on the way here. After looking at the machine, I was told I needed to purchase a belt. I was confused because I believed that the warranty would cover that since it was purchased about a month ago. I called customer service to inquire. I was told the warranty was only for 30 days and that after the 30 days I had limited warranty, I was also told because I called before and nothing was wrong with the machine they should charge me a fee for that. I grew concerned that there was a point system being counted against me for needing help but I still purchased the belt at $25. The next day I tested the machine out and it still was not rotating properly so I called customer service to explain the situation. I told the representative that I was concerned to have someone come back out because it sounded like it counted against me to get help. She explained that everything was fine and that I was covered and someone would be out the next day. Today the service men came to see why it was stalling on rotating, tuned up the machine and left. I than received a very angry and hostile phone call from the owner Robert who said "You have been sent a service $35 fee because nothing is wrong with the machine and if you do not pay it we refuse to do business with you." and proceeded to hang up in my face. It was a very threatening call. Overall I am dissatisfied with this service. More specifically the second technician said he was tightening the belt and ensure it was the right size and fit after it was replaced by the previous technician Now he is responding to my reviews, intentionally being dishonest and misleading, I have never referred to the dryer as a "piece of crap" as I do not choose to use language like that during business transactions. He has made claims that I made disparaging comments to the technicians such as "did you put all the screws in" or disregarding them. These claims are false and I believe he is on creating this negative impression to validate or justify his actions and treatment of his customer. A friend recommended this business to me and I was excited to support a local business but now am deeply saddened by this experience. read more

They were very helpful and patient even when the appliance that was initially picked was too large to fit in the house.

We signed no paper work besides a receipt and said we had 60 days to return it. When they delivered we told them it was not going fit and we told them we would let them know. After deciding that our landlord didn't want us to move the cabinets they won't take back the fridge. DO NOT SHOP HERE. You have no contract and sign a receipt. read more

I was in desperate need of a washer and dryer for my new rental after so many Facebook marketplace sellers being unreliable and deals falling through, I took a chance and googled used appliance stores. After driving to two different locations, both being duds, I bit the bullet and drove out to the East side to check this place out. Trish was super informative and clear about how everything worked. I quickly found a set at a great price and they scheduled delivery for me the following week. Delivery was very affordable and the guys who dropped it off were extremely nice and very efficient. After installing them, they noticed the dryer wasn't getting hot, so they made sure they got a technician over to me the following day. Vince checked out my dryer and after not having a part needed he found the nearest store and quickly returned with the part! He also went above and beyond to try and attach my gas line to the wall with the brackets I bought for it the day before, so that I didn't have to do it. I bought a dryer there "new" when I got it I ran it 3 times for one load and it never dried my clothes. I wanted to return it with the first problem. Per their policy a technician came to fix it and it did seem fixed. I started to notice my entire upstairs was filled with smoke/haze. I called to return it. They were supposed to come on Monday, I called Thursday to see if they were coming and they apologized and came out the next week. They gave me a refund for the exact amount of the dryer no tax and no delivery. I called them back and they told me they would call me right back. 3 Days later.... Robert returns my taxes but says that delivery was a service. I would not have paid for delivery on a faulty appliance. It's no where in their policy that you won't get refunded. You are taking a chance if the applicant you buy doesn't work you will be out of money. The load posted was in the dryer for 1 hour 45 minutes and still damp. The cord was not protected and is a fire hazard. I wanted this dryer to work but there was problem after problem with it. I was told the protection isn't necessary. Robert just called told me it's back on the show room floor. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to purchasing. Buyer beware read more

So I bought appliances from them a microwave that lasted three months refrigerator that lasted five or six months a double oven that lasted 8 to 9 months and I bought a dishwasher. (Each appliance went out one by one )It still works because I haven't used it and at the time I was getting my kitchen re-modeled. (An I was told it was a scratch and dent not used) so I didn't put the appliances straight to use so it was nothing that they can do for me and wanted to charge me to come and look at it when I explain to him what was going on he had no understanding he still wanted me to pay to even look at it after I told him everything that was going on, so I'm out of thousands of dollars and I will never go back there again The appliances is not lasting over 10 months. They sell appliances that they Know aren't going to work as they should or will not work for very long. you are better off going to a real appliance Outlet store to save money. At least you will get something new that hasn't been messed with. read more

We purchased a gas stove and refrigerator for $500. cash from Robert at Plug Appliance. We paid for them to connect the stove. They used an old connector and the gas stove leaked. When called they did nothing. The refrigerator did not cool or freeze. Again no response or help from this company. I would suggest not shopping there as I think they are a rip off. read more
