Have heard mixed reviews, in hearing from East Boston locals, there is an exclusionary aspect to the way staff treat patrons. Particularly, people of color or those who are not direct friends of the staff have reported on more than one occasion that they are not treated with the same level of hospitality. This is disappointing considering it is the only studio in this area. When people are consistently ignored when they say "hi" or "bye" and others notice, there is a cultural issue. read more

Class was okay-The overall studio was space was convenient to get to and probably the only yoga and barre studio in East Boston(?). The space provides free yoga mats and all accessories needed for barre and yoga. The vinyasa class I took I did not find challenging. The sequencing did not flow nor did the music and I left feeling like I did not get a good workout in. Maybe this is due to my skill level but I found it to be meh. I'm so excited that there's a yoga/pilates/barre studio near my apartment! They have a variety of classes and the classes get moved around so you aren't doing the same thing everyday at the same time. I do have to say that the room is a bit warm, maybe like 75 degrees. Not sure if that's on purpose or not. During my Vinyasa class it started getting a little cooler- I can feel the little bit of AC hitting me which was nice because I was working up a sweat like normal when I work out. I have seen 2 guys in one of the classes I took (vinyasa)! My BF and other guy friends would never come with me since they all think yoga is a girl thing. Vinyasa Yoga- Kimberly was my instructor and she was good, lot's of stretching which I will have to practice on! I really enjoyed the Sunday night yoga class as well which was the Sunday Slow Flow (Candlelight)- It was subbed by Katelyn and she did a good job. The incense being burned was very nice. Barre- I had this class with Jamie (she was subbing). She was subbing and she can pump a good workout! I was breaking a sweat and it is totally different than yoga. I felt like dancer/ballerina throughout the class since we were doing lots of moves on our tip toes. Her voice is loud and clear so you can hear her very well. Yin & Restorative- This was such a welcome after my personal training class elsewhere. I was tired, worn out, and could barely walk. Taylor (she was subbing) had us spend most of the time in a laying position doing different poses, very comfortable. The music was perfectly relaxing with lights off and incense burning. I would recommend this for winding down after a hard workout or just a hard day! Also took this class with Stephanie and it was relaxing. Vinyasa Yoga- Sara is not my type of instructor. I know some people may like yoga with no music, with lights...but not me. I find light distracting. I think she may be new or maybe that's just how she teaches yoga- and while I did alot it was a lot of downward dogging which i am not a big fan of. Her directions weren't very flowy as I would prefer, but hey if this is what you like, go for it! Sunday Slow Flow- first class I took with Katelyn who was subbing was very peaceful. Incense and no lights with comfortable music. Good way to end the weekend. Power Flow- Took this with Morgan. Lots of strength training, I used my hands alot. We also touched upon doing a hand stand or something close to it, I can't do it but it was cool to approach it. I love how her flow is- definitely a good class to work on your arm strength and the turning of your body. She also used an oil on us which made it relaxing towards the end. The music was good too. Barre- Amanda was awesome! She's super spunky and loud. Makes it a very upbeat class! Work those butt muscles!!!!!! She was cute as bee on halloween too! This is a fantastic barre & yoga studio. I can't believe how reasonable their prices are, given the classes are so terrific. There is also a sense of community there, and they host fun events from time to time. I've mostly taken their barre classes, which I love, though Strength & Sweat is my new favorite. Their power flow yoga class was also quite enjoyable. I haven't been disappointed with a class their yet. I've been here several times since moving to Eastie, and plan on continuing to come back. read more

The Point East Boston is absolutely AMAZING! I started in March this month with zero experience in both yoga and barre, and all the instructors were amazing and so welcoming! I have learned so much, and have seen so much personal progress. All the instructors are so incredible and offer modifications and advancements for every move. They make sure that every single person feels welcome and comfortable during the class. I couldn't ask for a better studio, and I am so glad I decided to start classes! read more

Very nice studio with a very welcoming vibe. My girlfriend and I went for the community class this weekend. She's a little more experienced in yoga than I am, despite that we both had a great time. The class wasn't to challenging for me and the instructor gave good advice on how work the poses to the best of my limited ability. Also if you don't have your own mat, don't worry. sent several emails to the Point asking about combo reiki/yoga class. told 90 minute class Nikki is great ....,received bad info from the Pointe in reply to sign up re date/time and I signed up and paid $22 for wrong class. Also Bad parking experience as waitress from restaurant downstairs from Point was ranting over and over and in a panic using abusive language towards me outside on street that I was on her bumper. This is east boston - parking is tight no matter where you are in the neighborhood. there is limited on street residents only parking in this area. I am a resident. I asked the Point if I could get complementary class since they sent me wrong info - flat out NO was the reply. Stressed out between wrong class and ranting waitress - can't recommend. read more

I have been going here for a few months now and I'm in love. They have so many types of classes form Hatha, vinyasa, barre, buti, and power flow. As well as special workshops. The whole vibe of the space is inviting, friendly and calm. All of the teachers are amazing, but Marco is my absolute favorite. He brings a sense of calm to the class and somehow manages to make it so that I forget everything else and am fully in the moment. His instructions are easy to follow and has a way of letting you know how to correct it with out calling you out. He explains every move and pose in a way that doesn't make you feel like such a newbie. I leave every class with him feeling completely calm, centered and completely at peace. Some how all the anxiety I usually carry is gone. If you have a chance to take one of his classes, take one. You can thank me later read more

Beautiful, small space with great instructors. None of the classes are overly obnoxious with people crammed in, but the space itself is relatively smaller than most Boston studios so it's definitely limited. I've come to a few workshops and have enjoyed the "zen" atmosphere. However what sets this studio apart is their Buti Yoga class - SO.MUCH.FUN. I was weirded out the first 5 minutes, but after a while I definitely loosened me up and had me moving like I hadn't in years! Love the instructor and the tribal vibes, definitely coming back. read more

I tried a yoga class here on a Saturday for the $5 community open class and it was a great decision! The instructor was very welcoming, the setup was great, and the vibe was amazing. No judgements and people of all different experience levels so I didn't feel out of place. Loved the pace of the class and I'll definitely be back, great overall experience! read more

Really a great addition to the East Boston neighborhood. I love that it's walking distance, even from the Eagle Hill/Paris Street area. The studio also has a wide variety of classes so I'm never bored. I've tried Barre and Strength and Sweat class with Jessica and Buti yoga with Kimberly and it's all a great workout and always a challenge. On other days, I'll go to Vinyasa or Move.breathe.be where I can still be active, but be at a slower pace. I did see pilates as a class option on their website, but I haven't seen that on the schedule yet so I'll be looking forward to that. Overall a great studio and would highly recommend! read more

I really enjoyed the two yoga classes I have been to at the Point. Went to an incredible class they held in Piers Park in August. Super excited to try more classes with them in the future I would not recommend the essential oils workshop- I went earlier in the fall and it was basically a doTerra essential oils sales party, not a class on essential oils. Not sure if I had misinterpreted the course description but I was really disappointed that there was a $15 charge to be told about a company/it's brand merchandising. read more

This Yoga and Barre studio was a really great addition to the Jeffries Point neighborhood. The instructors are all super nice and knowledgeable - I was new to both yoga and barre when I started taking classes here and now 2 years later I have started to go to other studios and I can attest to the fact that The Point gave me a really fantastic foundation that I have not seen at other studios. I would 100% recommend trying this out if you are in the Boston area, and the bar downstairs is great for a post workout meal or beer if you are traveling from a little bit farther! read more
