There were tons of people who brought logos and blankets and set up little picnics. The vibe is very chill. There's tons of outdoor seating which was really nice for a nice sunny day. It is definitely a place to come for the vibe rather than the beer itself. The selection is pretty small. They had four beers, a house red and white. They had tons of board games which my group really liked. The location is a bit remote. We followed the sun trail to get there and it was a nice 20 minute little hike. It's nice to feel like you're in the middle of nature away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This is a nice hidden gem in Mill Valley, great spot to spend a few hours in on a sunny day. The only negative is that it's only open to members except for a few weekends of the year.

My friend Jaime H. planned a hike with the destination being the Nature Friends Tourist Club, Although you can drive there, we opted to hike the 5 or so miles there. It was a long upward hike, but let me just tell you that the beer was sooo amazing after it. It just amazed me to see this awesome spot, nestled away like a little secret. It's only open 10 times a year to non-members, so it was crowded. I felt so happy to finally be there and enjoy the rest of my day. We found a place to camp out on the deck and picnic. They let you bring in your own food, but I forgot to bring a real lunch. I bought a meat jerky stick and chips along with a couple pitchers of beer. My friends brought some food, which we shared. People were enjoying the weather, family and friends getting together over pitchers of beer, board games and lunch. It was a perfect day. You can tell that the members truly love and take care of their club. Thank you for allowing us to share it with you!

The 3pm coffee break is not bad. But pretty much after that it's downhill - the sales team promises a community but really it's a Coworking space with uncomfortable sitting for working and member predominantly prefer not to interact much from 9-4pm - cafe doesn't really need to try because they have a captive audience as no outside food is allowed. Food is okay unless you are unlucky like me and get myself and my friend food poisoning from their strawberry matcha latte $13.50 each. We got our refund but no word of apology. - cafe staff is more likely not to know how to process your member credit. More than 50% of the time using your member credit is an uncomfortable experience and they just like to blame another team for why they are not trained. - the space is closed or partially closed whenever they can get it rented. Members just have to deal. - for $3000 a year shack15 is trying too hard to be cool but it just feels pretentious and almost unwelcoming. The events. You don't have to be a member to go to the events. À la carte payments work. Some events are good. If you are looking for Coworking space and want ergo set up this is not the place. If you want to meet people it's not great at facilitating a true community. It is a beautiful space that unfortunately doesn't deliver on its promise for me.

Great fun and surrounded by old friends And the game of games. So much fun Cake and the party boy. Yaaaay. The coolest private club which supports conservation on the San Francisco Bay. Brilliant views, awesome members, fun, chill zone. Expensive to join ... NO. Glamorous and opulent? NO. Its well designed, clean, spacious, great members, and a fun place to hang. And NO ... there is no shooting range here as it is in the city limits of San Rafael. But with a pier that goes a few hundred yards into the bay, it's hard to beat for fishing or just a picnic over the bay. The website says about its history: Founded in 1926, the Marin Rod and Gun Club is one of California's premier outdoor sporting clubs. The club was formed for the purposes of conservation, preservation and propagation of fish and game in Marin County, the State of California and the United States. We have grown from our original membership of 35 to over 1200 active members. We are still tops for conservation. From their website it states: Membership is extremely affordable and gives exclusive, year round access to the clubhouse, bar, fishing pier, BBQ patio and boat ramp. You will also be able to attend member only events throughout the year. Visit the Club any day of the week between 12:00PM and 6:00PM to take a tour, meet a few members and pick up an application. You can also CLICK HERE to download the membership application form and return via email to office@marinrodandgunclub.com. You can also drop off in person. Your membership requires the sponsorship of two actve members. If you do not know any members just come by the club from 12:00PM to 4:00PM to introduce yourself and meet our membership. We are a volunteer powered organization and members are expected to contribute their available time and valuable talent. Many hands make light work. Once your application is submitted you will be contacted by our membership chair for a candidate interview and then upon approval of the board attend your initiation ceremony at the next scheduled general membership meeting. Then they towed them around and told them go left rudder, right rudder. On day two they took them to Peninsula Point in high gusts. They put the "new" kids in the same boats, not an experienced older child with a new one. Just two "new" kids who are 9 years old. From afar in my binoculars, all the boats were capsizing, being righted and capsizing again and again, even the older kids fared badly due to the wind. After capsizing multiple times the instructor motored over and when he asked for help and held on to her boat and the sailboat she told him "you already learned how to right the sailboat, you should have listened". Then zoomed elsewhere, leaving them to float. In the end the main instructor rushed out in another motor boat, picked up the kids and towed the sailboats. Later she gave us some excuses. As you can tell my kid has no interest in sailing again. He did write a great paper about the experience and has a catchy title. To say I am still upset a year later is an understatement..... Honestly, if the club is interested in any feedback. They should get a Hot Tub on the deck, no freezing kid wants to run around to the showers waiting for the water to warm up their freezing hands. They should also mix one veteran kid, with one beginner kid. The ratio of boats to instructors is also too high as was evident. I doubt they care much to make the changes though as there will always be another parent who reads this and says, that won't be my kid or so and so's kid was very happy there.
