The prices here are better than online and half of what you pay in other major cities. What makes this place Golden is the community and dialogue created by the owner. They haven't just curated a collection of museum quality pieces, they've also curated a community of people with an emphasis on "Keep it in Utah". It's a business model that leaves some sellers scratching their heads because collectors know that if this shop was in Seattle or San Francisco or NYC or Chicago or LA...with these prices? Well, that's the exact opposite of the stuff you find at this studio. Erin's pottery just may be the brightest, happiest, cheeriest and most useful pottery you'll ever find. For example, I've yet to see a piece of her art that's dark or depressing. She uses really zippy colors; bright greens, reds, blues and yellows and everything has a purpose. And it's totally affordable. From the little (adorable!) toothpick holders to the larger bowls and dishes, they make great gifts. Think: housewarming. The good news is she's local and has a studio in East Millcreek. She has a small space at the Millcreek Art Space at Flynn Artipelago. I've been there a handful of times and seen her stuff. However, this is her working studio and isn't open for shopping per se. You can get in touch with the folks at Flynn Artipelago and find out the next time they're opening the studio for a stroll or make a private appointment with Erin. She's also sold at Craft Lake City in the past, and I believe was there during the Millcreek Community Market in 2011. Just another great little treasure. Why get a chips and salsa platter shipped from China when you can get a really great one right here in Utah and shake the hand of the artist who made it?

Her and her team pulled dresses for me, were hyping up all the girls in the store trying things on. This is truly such a lovely experience. Everything here is vintage and designer and in wonderful used condition. Because everything is designer, it's not your typical thrift store pricing - while it's still affordable for the items you're purchasing, it is still on the pricier side. Think of it as a high end consignment shop rather than a thrift store. I unfortunately was unable to find anything for myself but had such a lovely experience shopping here I wanted to share about how lovely this place was. I can't wait to come back.

A female volunteer sized me up visually, sneered and literally began sweeping dust directly at me. Had I provoked her, I could possibly understand, but I had done nothing.
