I knew I wanted to get some pictures done for my boyfriend as gift but I had no idea where or how. After doing some searching on line I found The Pouting Room and immediately sent Stephanie an email. She informed me of all the options and went over all the details with me. I thought for a moment and decided it was now or never so I booked my session. During the next few weeks I told a few of my friends and family what I was doing. All were very excited for me and wanted to see the pictures when it was all done. The encouragement and support from them all really helped me. I knew I was doing something that was going to push me out of my comfort zone and I worried about how I would do or how the pictures would come out. The day of the shoot I went there very nervous and still not sure I could pull this off. By nature I'm a country girl but I really wanted to capture my inner diva but I still wasn't convinced I could do it. After having my hair and makeup done by Angela and a very nice glass of Champaign I started to relax and loosen up. Stephanie and I went through the clothes I brought and she helped me pick out some very nice outfits. She was such a huge help! The photo shoot started and Stephanie guided me from start to finish. She was amazing and almost immediately I felt so comfortable and confident. It was a blast and I had so much fun with Stephanie. Her talent is incredible and she makes the whole experience so worth it. When I finally saw my pictures I was awestruck! Seriously, is that really me? She pulled something out of me I didn't think existed. Who knew! She helped me put my book together for my boyfriend and could not wait to get it in the mail. The day finally came, the book was here in my hands and it was beautiful! The book was going to be a Christmas gift but I couldn't wait, so I gave it to my boyfriend the next night. To say he was blown away is an understatement. Although the book was gift for him the experience and the pictures were for me. This was something I needed to do for ME! I had been researching different boudoir photography sites in hopes of having an album/book made for my husband for a surprise gift. The Pouting Room was the only site that, I immediately knew, would be the one for me. The detail that Stephanie provides on her website is beyond thorough. She gives tips on what to wear, what not to wear, giving links of places to shop for outfits, how to prep leading up to the shoot, what to expect, from weeks before in preparation to the day of, it's chock full of invaluable information so that you are fully prepared and at ease with the entire process. The actual day of the shoot was an absolute blast! She had encouraged me to bring some of my favorite music to help create the mood I wanted for the shoot, so I made a playlist which definitely got my energy up and "in the mood". Stephanie was open to anything I wanted to do (poses, b&w vs. color etc...) and was full of ideas she wanted to try out as as far as props, poses etc...she sees details that I'd never pick up on like a simple readjustment with an arm position, a hand, fingers even, I knew I was in the best hands, with her attention to all of those little things that really do come through in photos, the subtleties. It was such a fun, empowering experience for me. The results were incredible, the pics came out amazing. The one thing she insists on is NOT altering your body in any way, so you can be proud that "it's all you" when you see yourself in these pictures. I can't say enough how much I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone and everyone to do a boudoir shoot with Stefanie. I could literally go on and on but I'll try to keep it brief. First of all - you will feel incredibly at ease, sexy, and relaxed from start to finish. Stefanie is a complete expert at what she does and she makes you feel like she is a long time best friend from minute one. And she is a complete professional - she is efficient, she is incredibly organized, she has a website and materials that explain everything so that there will be no question unanswered at any point in time. But if you do ever have a question - she'll respond to emails in no time at all and answer everything! And as for the result - the photos are incredible - like literally unbelievable. I did one shoot with Stefanie about seven years ago when I got married, and my second shoot this year to celebrate my 50th- and I will absolutely be going back again. The photos we have are something my husband and I cherish and we look at our albums all the time. They bring both of us such joy - each for different reasons - but we both love them and we both are so glad we have found Stefanie. As an aside - my first shoot was with lingerie, by second shoot was all nudes - I never felt awkward or strange in any way - I felt completely comfortable and relaxed and genuinely happy and enjoyed every minute of both shoots. I've thought about doing a boudoir photo shoot for a long time and finally was ready to do it for my 10 year anniversary gift to my husband. I researched online and when I found the Pouting Room located only 1/2 hour from my home I was excited for the convenience. Then I went to their website and every video I watch and detail I read had me convinced I found the perfect place. I was worried about my hair and makeup because I am not good at that. I was totally sold when I saw she had a professional hair and makeup stylist that came to the studio. Then I met with Stefanie and she made me feel so comfortable at the first consultation, I left super excited to go shopping for my shoot and I had in a month. I decided to do a boudoir shoot to celebrate my 40th birthday. I found Stefanie and the Pouting Room online and was impressed with her work and presentation. I met with Stefanie in person and loved her studio. Stefanie was clear about her style, her interest in helping women develop a positive body image. She offers slight retouching of her photos but was straightforward that if I was looking for serious alterations to myself I would be better suited with another photographer. The day of shoot was wonderful. There was no rush while I had my hair and makeup done. Stefanie went through the numerous items I brought to help me pick out the perfect outfits for my shoot. I decided that I wanted to do a boudoir shoot for my (now) husband as a wedding day gift. I had heard of The Pouting Room back when Stephanie had her studio in Upton, so a few years later, after we postponed our wedding, I reached out to her to set up an appointment. I am a pretty outgoing individual but I tend to lack self confidence but wanted to do something special for my husband on our wedding day. Once the session was booked, I did a zoom meeting with her and even though we were talking over a computer I felt how genuine Stephanie was about her work.
