I understand there are more improvements coming that will make it even better. It is not super high end like a Life Time but I'm also not paying $100+ per month. There are plenty of machines and, based on all the times that I have been there, plenty of space to get through what I need to do. I go between 3 and 5 days a week so I use both machines and weights. It does get crowded between 5 and 7 but that is to be expected. I saw a couple of other reviews that are totally out of line. Last I checked a steel 25lb weight weighs as much as a pretty pink 25lb weight. This is not a prison style gym. Maybe a bit of industrial looking on the ceiling but who cares. Crunch is a nice gym for working out and getting in shape. Both men and women work side by side and there are no intimidating "Muscle Heads" The trainers know what they are doing and offer pointers even if you are not working with them at the time. My daughters have been members here also and have always been happy and comfortable. Finally, the staff and the other members are friendly, creating a good atmosphere in which to work out. To start with, she was on her phone and didn't even acknowledge us or say hi. When I told her I had a returning guest that I wanted to sign in, she asked for an ID. When I told her the in a previous occasion I was told I only needed to show the id when signing a new guest she said I was wrong. When my guest tried to speak, LAYLA, the front desk girl, sneered at my mom. Not only that, she was very condescending and LOOKING DOWN on us. In addition, we were charged the annual fee for membership, which I called within 3 hours of being charged and asked they cancel our membership and refund the fee. They refused and also refused to escalate the request to someone higher. We cancelled membership (same day of renewal) but Planet Fitness will keep the annual fee for a membership that was canceled three hours after auto charging us and will not be used. I wasn't really a fan of the workouts i was doing through them cause it was very repetitive. I also was moving to a different state so I figured it was best to cut ties with them. When I first tried to cancel my membership, the front desk employee told me she would speak with the manager to see if my cancellation fee could be waived since I was moving. That sounded reasonable, but then I never heard back. I waited 2-3 weeks with zero follow-up before finally calling again myself, at which point I gave up and told them to just charge the cancellation fee because I simply wanted out. When I finally spoke to the manager, he was rude and dismissive on the phone saying that wasn't possible and I needed to pay the fee. He did confirm that my membership would be canceled and that I wouldn't be charged going forward. I thought that was the end of it. It wasn't. A month later, I was charged AGAIN for the same membership I was explicitly told had been canceled. Since then, I've spent the past 5 days trying to resolve this, repeatedly calling and getting the same runaround from the front desk--that only the manager can fix it, that he's not available, and that he'll call me back. Of course, he never does. This has been a complete headache from start to finish. Poor communication, lack of accountability, and unprofessional behavior all around. I've wasted time, money, and energy just trying to cancel a simple membership. Absolutely unacceptable.
