The folks at Hilton reception suggested my brother take me to this specialist eye hospital, rather than the local A & E, and I am so grateful they made this suggestion cause I was treated immediately and with the best of care. My brother dropped me off front as he had to find parking and my thanks to the gentleman at the front counter who guided me towards assessment because at that time, I was just in such excruciating pain, I couldn't see anything from either of my eyes. Nurse Jane did my assessment and it was bad enough that I was skipped over the patients waiting in emergency, and taken in to see Nurse Anna a mere 10 mins later after my paperwork was submitted. My thanks and gratitude to both Nurses who were both so fantastic, and took such excellent care of me! After this triage, it was determined that I needed to see the Doctor and this took a while. Finally around 90 minutes later, got to see the Doctor, she diagnosed "Iritis" and I was prescribed a antibiotics plus steroids eye-drop course. Dr Khan was very through and fantastic about going thru my treatment for the next 5 weeks. After that, headed to the pharmacy (located in the main hospital building) and yeah while true total wait time was long, overall was very pleased with the quality of care and professionalism of all staff encountered. Having difficulty like so many, I went for an appointment where I was assessed, a diagnosis was given and a treatment plan was explained by Sally who was very thorough and knowledgeable. At no point was there any 'hard sell' to book in for treatment. My management plan was explained should I book back in for treatment and I felt totally looked after. I am booking back in as I was filled with confidence that the cause of my symptoms will be treated as opposed to just being given some possible prescription to over come the pain and discomfort I have. If you want an honest, professional and cared for appointment I can't recommend more highly Trowbridge Osteopaths and wellbeing centre.

The labour room (I had the same one both times, three years apart!) was very large, airy and well equipped so we felt very comfortable in there. The bed looked scary, as they usually do but there was also a rocking chair as well as all the usual equipment. The en suite bathroom was very clean and cosy with a big bath and handy panic button. I left the same day the first time but stayed on a ward for the night last time and it wasn't too bad. The bathrooms were quite clean and the food was okay, although I didn't have much due to a lack of vegetarian options. The staff, especially the midwives were great though and really helpful. I believe they recently won an award for their pro breastfeeding stance, which is deserved. Only weird thing was having to push the babies in front of us in their little plastic cots wherever we went. It was like being at a surreal supermarket! I have had a couple of out patient appointments here as well - for SPD during pregnancy and to have my son's tongue tie corrected and was really impressed on both occasions. The only problem, and it is quite a big one considering that this is a maternity hospital, is there is hardly any parking. If you arrive in the middle of the night then you should be fine but my husband had to park about fifteen minutes walk away last time, which was really inconvenient! He had to chuck me out of the car (while I was in labour) at the door then leave me on my own while he went off to try and park as near as possible. It was really absurd.

I did not even have any privacy when it came to undressing my lower half. The woman was rough when moving the camera around inside and I was in a lot of pain however she just continued. Even now around 5 hours later I am struggling to sit down due to a burning sensation even walking is a problem. The scan I had previously was fine and had only the small amount of discomfort expected. I am quite shocked to be completely honest with how this scan went and am put off going to st Michaels again.

Happily however The Lennard Surgery does offer same day appointments. Phew! There is nothing worse than needing urgent advice and being told you can get an appointment in 2 weeks! It feels a lot cosier inside than other GP surgeries, reminds me more of going to the GP when I was a kid. They have many female GPs which I appreciate as I feel more comfortable with a female doctor. Glad i bit the bullet and re-registered now.

The practice is run by a team of very experienced osteopaths who all have a slightly different approach to their craft. But all use structural and cranial techniques. Their clients vary from the decrepit to the newborn and from the sportsman or woman to the couch potato. They offer a variety of treatment for sports injuries and employ several practitioners in complementary therapies from acupuncture and homeopathy to family counselling, reflexology and shiatsu. The excellent website has profiles on every practioner detailing their approaches and influences. And you can expect to be seen fairly promptly if you are in extreme pain. Obviously, I was quite worried so really wanted an appointment straight away in case it was anything serious (I didn't want to leave it too long). Gave Cwmbran Dental Care a call to organise an appointment and they had something available for me not 3 days later. ~ Receptionist: I dealt with Judith over the phone and she was an absolute star. Was very understanding with how worried I was and calmed my nerves. ~ Dentist: My dentist was Ruth and she was the best dentist I've ever dealt with. She was both friendly and no-nonsense, dealing with my lump straight away. Nearly cried with joy when she told me that it was non-cancerous (was muscle fibers). I have a strong gag reflex so it's difficult for me to do x-rays. I let Ruth know this and she was very understanding. The last dentist I went to kept getting annoyed with me when I gagged, even though it was something I obviously couldn't help. On the other hand, Ruth gave me tips on how to breathe properly to try and not gag and she was very encouraging! Another positive was that she was very thorough with her explanations of everything (which muscle my lump is, etc.) For £30 as a new patient including 2 x-rays, the price isn't bad either. Highly worth it for me, to give myself peace of mind as well! I'd recommend Cwmbran Dental Care to anyone!
