Following on this blog will also be included my thoughts during and after the treatment. Gua sha is a instrument-assisted traditional Chinese medical treatment. After my initial appointment was cancelled last minute (equipment failure)- off I popped last night. The place itself is very grand looking and to my annoyance offers no parking- i managed to get parked nearby on-street as it was after 6pm. I'm sure I would be at my wits end to try get parking in Wetherby during the day as it seems scarce to none! There is no 'receptionist' and I was a bit disorientated as there seemed to be no staff about but wondered if this is just because it was after hours? the 'reception' area was very new looking and polished and all looks very professional. I heard noise from upstairs so assumed this was where I needed to be- correct! Sarah was lovely and friendly, talked me through my diet & food problems with ease and then on with the procedure. My modestly was managed at all times and I was kept at ease by a very chatty Sarah while the treatment was being done. My initial consultation took about 40 mins and Janice assured me all the information given was relevant to ensure the correct points were stimulated in the actual treatment. I'm usually a bit of a wuss when it comes to needles but out of 6 sessions I have only felt about 5/6 of the needles being inserted (on average I have 15/20 needles inserted) as they are that fine & Janice is very good at her job in making me feel relaxed and at ease with the process.
