You wouldn't know I'm a resident in Edinburgh, the amount of time I spend in this backpackers' bar…read more Belushi's is an Aussie's dream, a hostel, right in the centre of town, with a lively bar and a load of Fosters on tap and they show live sports. The bar looks tiny, but holds a surprising amount of people, and has a really good travellers' party atmosphere. Everyone is up for meeting new people and generally pretty drunk so it's always a good laugh. Everytime I come here I have a great time, and normally end up pretty drunk. Most of the times it has been for the football, and there is always a great atmosphere for sports events without the accompanying aggression you sometimes get. The staff are really friendly and the prices are cheap so overall it's a great place to have a boozy night and meet a load of Aussies. Also if you're actually a tourist here, I've been told from friends that it is a good place to stay in, with competitive prices and clean, nice rooms available. Not much more you can ask for really

Came here just because it was close to our Market Street Hotel. Looks like a good place to watch…read morefootball and get a craft beer. We came in for The Monday night, two for one Pizza Special. We came in and sat ourselves after not being greeted upon entry. We read the menus and decided upon which drinks we would order and the specific pizza we would have on the two for one deal. We waited for 20 minutes and then finally some guy walked by and said you have to order at the bar. Went up to the bar and the same person that told us that we had to go to the bar who's there to take our order. Here is also the person that told us that they were completely out of pizza onto for one pizza night. and that are request for wine only included one option. So we ended up ordering four orders of the chicken wings and ordered the special mango habanero, chili wings, the Korean barbecue lime with peanut wings, The Sriracha/maple syrup, wings, and the KC masterpiece BBQ wings. We really surprised that none of the wings flavors were quite right. I would never order any of them again. However, since we ordered so many, we wanted to take them back to our hotel, but then we were told that they had no to go boxes bags or foil. We may do with stuffing the leftover 12 chicken wings into our silverware paper envelopes that luckily we're not cleared away since we didn't have any table service. Hey not all was lost as we ended up going to Kentucky Fried chicken afterwards... so there's that...

Wetherspoons has a reputation in the UK ranging from great to terrible. I had never been in one…read moreuntil my recent trip to Edinburgh brought me to The Caley Picture House. That Wetherspoons took over an old theater that started out as a silent picture venue in 1923 and later turned into a music venue (where notable acts like Queen, Pink Floyd, and The Smiths had played) really intrigued me! When I told my husband that Wetherspoons is known for their cheap meals and beer, he was all in! The Caley Picture House did not disappoint. What a cool, gorgeous place! We found a table and ordered our meals from their app, and they were delivered a short time later! They have meal deals which include drinks (you pay just a little more to include alcoholic drinks). My husband had their ramen and I had a jacket potato with roasted veggies. I had a delicious cider with mine and my husband had an IPA. We so enjoyed the experience that I took out my phone and ordered ice cream for dessert. We took note of the breakfast menu and came back the next morning to check it out. We both had inexpensive egg and English muffin sandwiches that came with unlimited coffee (a serve yourself espresso machine that included mochas). Really good! The Caley Picture House is fabulous! We told our son he needs to check it out and bring friends. This place is enjoyed by the young and old and everyone in between. We'll be back the next time we are in town!

Situated literally 50 metres from Tynecastle stadium, it's an obvious hotspot with the Hearts…read moresupporters and all around the pub you will find Hearts memorabilia as well as signed Scottish football shirts and the like. The decor of the pub is pretty old, but in all honesty this is probably what gives the pub so much character I came here just before a Hearts game versus Rangers and it was very packed, but the bar staff were very fast in taking orders. The vast majority who venture into the Tynecastle Arms are Hearts supporters with away fans opting to frequent other venues. I would come back here, but only if I were going to see Hearts play.

This pub, for decade's was a great pub. When Stevie was…read morerightly removed and Sharon was hired as manager, it became a pub to avoid ( except, of course on a matchday, at Tynecastle ). She ( Sharon, the manager) is an ignorant, arrogant, condescending, disgusting individual. The pub no longer has any kind of atmosphere. She constantly slags off staff to the regular punters and other members of staff. And overall she lacks any kind of personality and has killed this once great public house. As someone who has worked and managed all over Edinburgh, from five star hotels to pubs with questionable reputations, I've never met such an ignorant individual or someone with such poor people skills. Take away her customer service skills ( or lack of ) she knows how to work a bar, that's not in question, it's her disgusting personality that's destroyed this pub.
