Everything was so good, the women there gave us a tasting of a type of cheese bread they had, she was super helpful with our questions. My daughter got cotton candy that did t have much flavor just tasty ed of plain sure yet still a fun treat. They have the nicest set up for pets. Little doggie stations that have tents, towels, buckets of water and bowls for them to rehydrate. They go above and beyond for their furry friends visiting the market. Only downside was that it gets quite crowded, fresh produce and local crafts can be somewhat expensive & you have to pay for parking, so you may have a little further of a walk to get there.

Bread is delicious. Vendor did not start on time. Kept us waiting for 15 min (in the hot sun) after bell was rung to begin sales. Also, completely inflexible when asked to substitute bread which was over-baked. Great bread poor service from only one vendor. Today was the first West Ashley Farmer's Market of the (short) Fall season and I attended. It's…read moreheld in Ackerman Park, which is just off Hwy 61/St. Andrews Blvd. The Farmer's Market was supposed to begin on September 14, but was rained out. It's new in 2016, and for the first year and first market, the organizers and City of Charleston did a great job. It's part of the city's efforts to revitalize West Ashley. I saw many vendors who are mainstays at other Farmer's Markets, such as Rio Bertoili pastas and Normandy Farms bread. You could buy honey, cheese, breads, dips, fruits, veggies, and even meats. If you're hungry, options like Roti Rolls, King of Pops, and Gelato are there. Hopefully more ready-to-eat food options will be added in the future. Parking at the park can be a challenge, so I suggest parking at the Food Lion/CVS building and just walking behind it- you'll see the Farmer's Market. I will definitely return to this Farmer's Market when I'm free on Wednesday afternoons. It's a great addition to West Ashley.
