She told us to check back in mid spring. My daughter in law called. The owner said wait, didn't you bring that home? Now DIL is panicked because she did not bring it home. Then she said oh we are transferring from paper to digital let me call you back. My son then calls as my DIL is panicked. She says oh I found the order...Can you tell me what size it was supposed to be? (We did in fact oscillate between sizes so it would not be too big at the wedding.) my DIL tells her the size and the owner says oh I remember. That's what I had written. Then asked my DIL to come and try on some sies "just to be sure" as she said she had ordered several sizes of that dress. My DIL then drives to ADA from okc area and tries on sizes but asks me to meet her there. I did. It's hard being a nervous bride and the dress you felt so good in has not arrived for your mid June wedding. So when I arrive, the owner was speaking to another group. I quietly waited. She asked who I was. All I said was I'm with the young lady you spoke to yesterday. My son also called you? Her nice expression faded and all I got was oh. Then my DIL walked in and the owner began commenting on all the new dresses in the store and how one was the "high end version" of the dress she ordered. It sure felt like she was trying to sell a different dress to DIL, but maybe not? ‍ So DIL tried on several dresses from the same company. Confirm it's the same size she still needed. Then I walk over (DIL said owner complained to her I was rude when I first got there but I didn't get out more than one sentence and that was to tell her who I was!) I asked if the dress happened to be there. Owner stated NO! It was backordered. Me: when did you order it? That's a long time to be on back order? Owner: as soon as you ordered it that day. It's a very popular dress. Me: well then how will we know it will be here by the time of the wedding? Owner in my 30+ years of doing this I've never had one dress be late. I can assure you it's in stock because I called and it will be here at the end of May and I order from them all the time I just told the kids to follow up with the shop once a week. (I actually did this because when I came in this second time, I was also there at the fitting, she told the family in front of me that "yall can't call too much to remind me or check on things (I think it was shoes they were following up on). So if it didn't bother with the shoes why would it matter with a brides dress?? The dress got here this past week. Hurrah! BUT!!! She is now claiming it was because her credit card on file was incorrect so it had never gotten ordered (you know...the place she orders from all the time??!) and she was sure it would get there in about a week( it was several but whatever, we now have the dress). She then went on to complain about me and my son (for what? Supporting a nervous bride? No one was disrespectful but we were scared this was going to mess up the wedding. A dress is a big thing for a bride!!) If she would have been honest and said, oh I messed up! I can't believe it but this will still get here on time, we all would have been annoyed and scared about the timeline but respect the honesty and trust her word. The price was good. Service was horrible from the owner. The young girl helping was nice and helpful. But lying and then lying more and then complaining about people who were never disrespectful but just wanted a happy bride and br supportive? Not cool. I wouldn't recommend this place. Baby goats are cute. Baby goats in the shop while trying on expensive dresses? Not as cute. Just super unprofessional.
