During my communication with their team, they would often put the call on speaker without my consent, allowing others in the office to hear our conversation. English is not my first language, so when I struggled at times, I could hear a white male in the background laughing at my English. It felt very disrespectful and unprofessional. At that time, there were limited lending options available, so I continued working with them despite these concerns. However, I specifically asked their representative whether they would delay the loan process due to interest rate changes, which could cause us to miss the rate lock period and result in additional charges (points) . This concern was based on negative experiences I had with other lenders in the past. Their representative clearly assured me that this would not happen. However, in the final 10 days before the rate lock expiration, we were almost unable to reach their underwriter at all. There was little to no response to our messages during this critical period. This made it very difficult to move the process forward and gave the strong impression that the delay was intentional. As a result, the loan did not close within the locked rate period. My client was then forced to pay over $7,000 in additional points in order to proceed and complete the loan. This experience left me feeling that the company was highly unprofessional. Clients were not treated with respect, and the handling of the loan gave the impression that they were taking advantage of the situation rather than acting in good faith. I do not recommend this company. Since then, I have shared this experience with my colleagues, friends, and my broker, as it remains one of the worst experiences, I have had working with a lender!!

But beware the sugar-sweet tone of their callers: Translation: Was their collateral impaired by Ian? Why do they want to know that? Well, once the house is damaged, their collateral is no longer worth what they loaned you on it. They can ask for more money from you perhaps, or perhaps call in the loan. Bad enough people lost their homes-- must TMF now make it worse by calling in their mortgages? If they want to know this, they should send out their investigators and underwriters, instead of further victimizing those who lost their homes. Shame on you The Mortgage Firm!
