We had to go over and tell him to stick to the list, and even then he kept slipping his songs in. It was extremely disappointing. We had pick very specific important songs to us and people at the wedding and they did not get played. Besides the fact the amount of time and thought we put into picking those songs. Second, I told him most important to me was the he did not play the wrong first dance, father daughter song and mother son song. He literally played the wrong mother son song. It was supposed to be Across the Universe by Fiona Apple. A guy was singing instead. When I went over to tell him it was the wrong song he pointed to his computer and said "the computer says it's Fiona Apple." Then, he just stopped the song in the middle forcing their dance to stop. Dance music was fine, but I didn't want an average DJ I hear at every wedding, I wanted to work with him to make this special.

They had helpful organizational tools leading up to the event that kept us on track with which songs we needed and gave us an easy place to log them. We had a prep call with our DJ, Chris, who asked us questions about our musical taste, level of DJ interaction we wanted at the wedding, etc. And on the day-of, he delivered: the dance floor was packed and everyone had a fantastic time. My biggest fear in hiring a DJ is that they would be cheesy, or not be able to read the room, and Chris was neither of those things. Spinnin Discs did both my ceremony music and the reception - so they assigned us 2 DJs for the entire day. We worked with Anthony and he was great. They make it really easy for you to select songs on their website - listing out all the specific portions of the ceremony processional and reception that you need to select songs for. The need to select a list of songs for cocktail hour, dinner, etc. was a little overwhelming for me - I would have preferred if they would have gotten an idea of what kind of music we liked and went with that. Overall, I think the DJs did a great job of keeping people on the dance floor. I loved when he threw in some old school Blink 182 for everyone to dance to. My only complaint is that he played all of my "Must Plays" in a row more toward the end of the night instead of spreading them out. I also like that they do a good job of coordinating and practicing with you for introductions to make sure they get all the names pronounced right.

So I wait until October 17th and still receive no quote, so I reach out to them to express the urgency I needed this and that I was frustrated it was taking so long just to get an estimate that I was told would be sent over same day.. And they just didn't respond. Seems unprofessional considering they expect a 5k minimum just to book.

I would not feel confident hiring a vendor who communicates this poorly for such an important event.
