The decor is very basic and its quite simply a house thats been remodelled into a place for the ravening horde. We went in a large group but the staff were able to handle it well. The coffee was great, probably one of the better ones that I've had from the different cafes we tried in the Whanganui/Palmerston North area. I had a soy late (the cafe uses Illy) and the flavour was well rounded and nicely flavoured and the soy milk wasn't over heated which was a blessing. Whilst we didn't have time to stop for long, the Cooperage is open 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch and with the added bonus of being connected to 2 different furniture/homeware stores its a lovely destination for a girls lunch date.

Every single French person would tell you the same thing: what they really miss when they're abroad is French food and especially French bread and bakery. (also saucisson, and cheese) One day, some friends of mine showed me this very special place. I was skeptical first, because you can't find true real French bakeries abroad easily. Usually you find croissants which don't taste like croissants in France T___T! I'm not saying there'nt good, just saying that they taste different. But when I came closer I could see the little sticker on the door "Artisan boulanger". Startled I yelled :"no way!!! It's a real French bakery!!" A huge smile on my face, I ordered croissants, pies, Florentins comme à la maison! They taste just like the ones I could buy in France. Such a good quality, such a delight!
