I'm not sure if the receptionist was aware of this when I came in but I had to leave to get a 20 out of the ATM. It would've been nice to know this first thing when I walked in. Kind of a hassle but the weather was bad and I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. Give Enrique a chance, I'm glad we have a barber that cuts so well in Portage.

I am very impressed with the service and kindness of the staff. I have a toddler that is sensitive to touch and sensation so as you can imagine buzzers are a hard pass for him. I called ahead to let them know and when we came in as I expected my toddler wasn't having it. All my usually tricks were working and he was having a super hard time. The original person he was booked with was nervous and afraid of messing up his hair or hurting him, but nonetheless was still giving his absolute best shot. The person my son was originally scheduled with realize that he might not be the best fit and reached out to one of his coworkers to see if my son might be a little more comfortable with her. I was extremely impressed as we had already been there a while and my son was being pretty difficult and I was fully okay with calling it a day and wouldn't expect anyone to take up any more time or put him on someone else's schedule and they accommodated him with no issues. The barber was extremely kind and patient with him. She took her time to make him laugh and get him comfortable with her before proceeding, and the haircut was the best he has ever had. This is saying alot as we have had visits to multiple different places, including two visits to children's specific haircutting places. I cannot have imagined a more accommodating or kind staff. read more

Shelly is the only person who cuts my hair. She is awesome can't speak for anyone else tho. (sorry ). she does it all fades ,styles, wax. check her out . Easily make an app. online , and they are even open on Sundays. I do recommend her to friends and family. read more

This is a true barbershop and has been continuously operating since 1894! The vintage vibe is perfect. I was told the current owner has been operating for about 3 years. Above all, they provided great service. Grimaldi's has 3 chairs available and they take appointments through their Facebook page. I made an appointment recently for a late Saturday morning and got right in. Others that walked in had about a 30-45 minute wait. Not bad for a Saturday morning, but definitely worth making an appointment. Chris cur my hair and did a great job. I also enjoyed the conversation and again, the atmosphere was perfect. Old school barber and the place was full of guys with their kids. Passing down the tradition! I will be coming back for sure. I've found my new hair home.
