We were greeted and provided menus. All the food coming out from the kitchen was well presented. Finally I order my vegetarian plate and I see beauty out right before my eyes. Every component had a purpose and even the rocket was dressed with vinegar to dance on my tongue of course. It was much better than the photo posted around 10 months before my visit today. Even then I was keen but now it's blown my mind- never underestimate good food. B-fast plate is $18 add on from bacon, sausage, hash browns are $2. This is now the to go brunch venue. Weather was predicted to dump all day but just as we approached Dural.... BAM!! Hello rain. But once we made it to the cafe, the cute outdoor seating was drenched. However inside was super cozy and the perfect place to hit out with a coffee. The kitchen was closed when we made it but a second wind for a second lunch totally could have happened. The burger sounded aahhhmazang!! The treat skim piccolo and a cheeky brownie totally hit the spot and the day was a success! The coffee was soooo good! I'm no coffee connoisseur but that cup was so smooth with some surprising character to compliment. This place is located on the main road so parking is difficult. This wouldn't be a problem if there was something special encouraging you to visit - unfortunately there wasn't. There is indoor and outdoor seating with about 15 of the tables outside. It is licensed as well but only one side of the outdoor area is licensed. Again and like the flies - the licensing laws aren't the fault of the owners but it's a pain in the butt to move everything 2m because you want to have a beer! The staff were polite enough but stuffed up both our drinks orders and the food - brought the wrong drinks and then left stuff on the burger we'd asked to not have on there. The coffee was definitely great but very small. I had a burger which was really good and very fresh but for the price I wouldn't have expected anything less. If it were my local I'd have the odd coffee here but it's not the sort of place I'd go out of my way to visit.

Staff are friendly and accommodating, and our server checked on us without 'overchecking' as can be the case at some cafes. With Mr Hangrypants distracted by a sneaker store down the way, I lined up alone to get a table as there was a bit of a queue. "Table for two?" I was asked almost immediately. Crikey, she must have seen us coming a mile away. Bill arrived as I was being shown to our table and we were efficiently given menus and then not forgotten about despite the place being jammed. We ordered food and coffee and the drinks arrived almost immediately, again, as I already mentioned, despite the place being jammed. A little while later our food arrived piping hot, again, and I can not be more emphatic about this, DESPITE THE PLACE BEING JAMMED! This sort of efficient service just doesn't happen in suburban Sydney. The coffee at The Missing Piece is great. The food is top quality. We had Big Breakfasts or "The Complete Picture", in keeping with the theme. Standard price at $18. I was thoroughly impressed all round with my experience and will be back. The only downer is that the OJ is really some kind of Orange Fruit Drink and I did come here one time early on in the piece and they served my tea with milk in a syringe on the side. I hope they have stopped that off putting little nod to modern cafe hipsterism. Other than that, all good in the hood (if North Ryde could indeed be described as a hood...)
