    Chicken/ Waffles and Mushroom Toastie
    Francis M.

Started the day off at the fine food store and was exceptionally pleased with the quality of food and drinks. I got the chicken and waffles and my wife got the mushroom toasty and both were amazing. This is a must stop if you're vicinity of the rocks for a good breakfast or lunch...will absolutely come back when I return to Sydney.

Food was very very good. Might take a bit longer than expected to get your food but that's because it's all freshly made and very delicious. It's clear it's not some frozen food that's heated up. Service was great and the place is beautiful.

Near the rocks museum. Great breakfast. Clean polite and quick and right in the heart of it

Food is excellent, people are nice... AND open at 7:30 pm Saturday. Thank you!!! We would have come here more often if we had found sooner.... But at least, I now know where to go for breakfast near the Quay.

    Yummy food.

The food here was outstanding. In our group we ordered some lunch and breakfast and all was very memorable. The service was quick and responsive. We stumbled upon this place as a large group and it did not disappoint.

We couldn't have been happier with the quality of the food. Everything was exceptionally fresh and well prepared. It is on the expensive side, but you will get what you pay for.

My latte cold and tasteless cost over $6 which is outrageous in itself.

The coffee was terrible no taste and cold and over priced. It was cold and raining and all I wanted was a decent cup of coffee only to be disappointed and quite outraged.

This place is okay. Fresh seasonal ingredients for sure but quite expensive for not a lot of flavor. My husband and I ordered an aeropress and he got the unlimited refill coffee. He ate the brisket sandwich and liked it. Said it has good flavor. I got the avo toast and it was $20 for barely any avocado. Very thin layer and then just a ton of vegetables on top with no flavor. I had to add salt to it. And the poached egg was on the side but no room on top or the toast to put it. So just very messy and not a ton of flavor. My aero press took a very long time and we had to ask them where it was. My husband kept having to ask for refills on his coffee as well. For $10, he wanted to get his money's worth. The coffees we had did taste fresh and good. It was also a Sunday so they charge 10% fee. So we spent $60 on breakfast for two people. I didn't think it was worth it but this isn't a bad spot either. Cute indoor outdoor seating as well.

Casual chill cafe with plenty of seating. Very fast service (almost too fast!). I had the rustic chicken baguette - the bread was delicious. Could have had more filling though. Overall, great place for lunch.

I am always torn when ordering breakfast - sweet or savory. Today it was a perfect wedding. Belgian waffle with caramelized banana, bacon and Mac nut gelato. Amazing. Can't wait to go back tomorrow

Cool design and ambience. Very friendly, with good service. The food is very bread based and I'd not hurry back to eat here. But, for a coffee or tea and to relax for a while, read or work this place will hit the mark.

    Mocha.

My wife and I are traveling through Sydney. We looked for the best places to eat and tried about five or six of them before taking a chance here. Had we tried this place first, we may very well not have gone anywhere else for breakfast. It's reasonably priced for breakfast, and cheap for insanely great (flavorful and fresh) food. Get the breakfast panini, and my wife highly recommends the avo and ricotta. Also, the best mocha I've ever had. The only gripe I had was the chocolate chip cookie. Not worth it, wasn't particularly tasty, but don't let that deter you. Best breakfast we had in Sydney, and there's not a close second. (Yes, we had Pancakes on the Rocks)

What else can I add? This place is legit! Their food is fresh, thoughtful and delicious! Came here three times during my stay in Sydney and had the chicken sandwich, breakfast sandwich and the avo toast. All were great but the chili jam on the two sandwiches is to die for!

I fully expect moustache rides will be on the menu if business ever hits the skids. Alas, despite the gleeful charm of the curly coifed one, nothing short of an excellent coffee with character was going to make the all important lasting impression on me and sadly in that area GC disappoints. I gave GC the Soy Latte test and the Long Black test and it just doesn't measure up to other coffee in the area. I like strong coffee with complexity and GC just doesn't have that. It's not the worst but it is very weak despite using the same La Marzocco espresso machine (that Barista's rave about for ease of use) as other places in the area. The service at GC however is very good and to some people that's first priority. So if you aren't too fussy about your coffee and are looking for a smile and a spring in your step from an energetic soul then get your morning fix at GC, and start the day on a happy note.

We came in thinking it was just a coffee shop, but it's essentially a restaurant that also has a focus on coffee. They have a full bar and a window to the outside where you can order just coffee and tea to go. As for the interior it's dimly lit and sort of has romantic date night vibes. We essentially only ordered coffee and one person ordered a cake slice. The lychee cake was pretty good per my aunt. A couple people ordered the Coco Loco, which is basically an espresso martini on steroids with Nutella and something like a Ferrero Rocher. I ordered a latte and their Affogato. The latte was very smooth and BI is arguably one of the best I've ever had. Is the Affogato a cheat code because they use like a tiramisu ice cream? You could argue that case. You can also buy their blends of coffee beans, subject to availability. While the latte was very smooth, I can't say it was mind blowing but it was still pretty good.

I also reserve 4 and 5 star reviews for exceptional service with unforgettable dining experiences. The ambience is intimate but also noisy. I will say the coffee here and in Australia in general is some of the best coffee I've ever had. I ordered (2) espresso martinis, pancakes, and the sirloin steak breakfast with a side hashbrown. My pancakes were stone cold but I will say the aesthetics on it made it edible. The pistachio butter cream was to die for. My steak was ok ; for the price I simply just wanted more. I could be wrong but I doubt it was even 6oz. If you have this place on your radar be sure to make reservations. This goes for almost every restaurant in Sydney. My server was Cassie who was very personable and even gave us tips on what to watch out for dining in Sydney.
