There seems to be two types of pubs (or actually three, but the third type is the one you simply don't visit) in the inner north of Melbourne (which I tend to know a little better) - the trendy hipster pub, and the oldstyle classic pub. This is what I would put down as the second type. The front bar is pretty small and a part of me was wandering if I could squeeze in for a beer, until I discovered that it opens up in the back to a restaurant, and there are a number of tables down the side. Don't expect any fancy beers here, but it does have a nice quiet atmosphere about it. They don't have a beer garden, but I still quite like the old charm that this place has. read more
