I called them two weeks in advance and asked them to pick us up at home at 6 am. On the pickup day, March 3, 2017, our driver, Alicia (I hope I spelled her name correctly) arrived exactly at 6 am. The van was clean and we were the only passengers. She loaded our luggage into the back of the van, my wife and I loaded ourselves into the seats, and Alicia ran my credit card for the fare. Then, off we went to LAX. Alicia is very personable and we had a very nice conversation during the two-hour ride to LAX. I asked her about the process of being picked up at LAX and she explained how that works. She dropped us off at LAX and we gave her a nice tip. Alicia made the entire trip to LAX very relaxing. Our return from Hawaii, on March 13, saw our plane delayed getting to its gate at LAX due to fog. A plane heading to San Diego had been diverted to LAX and was at "our" gate. As we taxied around waiting for the other plane to be pushed away from the gate, I turned on my cell phone and had a message saying that our driver, Dayne, had arrived. The message included the phone number we should call when we were ready for pickup. I called Dayne while we taxied, and gave him the bad news that we would be late getting off the plane. He said we shouldn't worry about that, and to just call him when we were standing outside baggage claim. Eventually, we got off the plane, got our luggage, and I called Dayne. After a few minutes, he showed up. Since there are no signs on the van, I had to guess if the white van pulling up to the curb was the one driven by Dayne. It was. Dayne looked very professional in his black limo driver's suit, tie, and hat. As with Alicia, he loaded our luggage, my wife and I got in, and off we went. We didn't get out of LAX until after midnight and I was thrilled to let someone else do the driving. Once again, we were lucky enough to be the only passengers in the van. As with the Alicia ride, Dayne, my wife, and I had a wonderful conversation all the way back to Victorville. Dayne was relatively new with the company and his professionalism, excellent driving, and personality make him a fine addition to the company's staff. By the time Dayne dropped us off at our front door, it was like we were old friends. We gave him a very nice tip and watched as he drove away (around 2:00 am or so). My wife and I both decided that we made the right decision using High Desert Shuttle for our ground transportation. Overall, from speaking to the woman in the office to make the reservation, to the punctuality of the vans, to riding with Alicia and Dayne (two very personable and professional drivers), to the cost of the roundtrip, everything went extremely smooth. We go to Hawaii at least once per year and we will definitely be using High Desert Shuttle for our future trips. We highly recommend you try them, too. Edit #1 (3/18/2018): So my wife and I used High Desert Shuttle again on 2/3/18 to LAX and 2/11/18 back home. Going to LAX we had Brandon as our driver. Our van had one other person in it when we were picked up at 4 AM on a Saturday. We dropped her off at Ontario Airport and then headed to LAX. As with Alicia and Dayne, Brandon was very professional, an excellent driver (very smooth and always within the speed limit), and very personable. We all had a wonderful conversation as we safely headed to LAX. My wife and I would definitely drive with Brandon in the future. On the way back home Jessica was our driver. She had just dropped off a large party and her van was pulling a small trailer used for carrying all of their luggage. This was one of those days when the Cajon pass was very windy. I've seen enough 18-wheelers on their side from these winds that I worried (just a little bit) about our mostly empty trailer. But, as it turned out, there was nothing to be worried about. Jessica is a great driver, professional, and handled the van plus trailer combination like a pro. She can drive us in the future and I know my wife and I are in good hands! We've had four shuttle trips now and four different drivers. All have been great! I guess High Desert Shuttle does a wonderful job screening their driver candidates. We'll be using them again in May. Will we see Dayne, Brandon, or Jessica again (Alicia is no longer with them)? Who knows. But, based on all of the above, I'm not worried no matter who drives us.

While I easily could have went with Uber, Rich gave me an incredible deal that came out to the same as Uber. Our driver was Harry. Not only was he amazing, but he was completely reliable and most importantly safe. The car was spacious enough for my Bruin to bring home laundry to do at home. For our roundtrip airport transport, we confirmed twice over the phone that we needed a rear-facing car seat and a vehicle that could fit five passengers with luggage. The driver showed up without the correct car seat, and the car was too small for our bags. When we brought this up, we were told the driver "forgot." This created a stressful and unsafe ride for our baby. On our return ride, the same driver was over 20 minutes late, joked on the phone that "no one's coming," and when we asked for an ETA, gave no clear answer. When my elderly father expressed frustration, the driver threatened to leave us at the airport. This was deeply unsettling--especially since the driver knew our home address. After the trip, I spoke with Rich (the manager), who acknowledged both incidents were unacceptable and promised a refund and a free ride to make it right. Neither happened. It's not about the money--it's the principle. The broken promises and continued lack of follow-through make me feel we were lied to just to de-escalate the situation. I don't take writing negative reviews lightly, but this experience was unacceptable. This company may have good ratings, but if something goes wrong, you're on your own. I would not trust them again--especially if you're traveling with children.
