My son was needing help with his subjects particularly Math, and time management. I'm so glad I found the right approach to Education. We had help from Justin who was able to get my son to understand the concepts and was able to tell when my too shy to ask son was not understanding. Together they brought the grade up to A, and we received compliments from the teacher! And he has been able to stay on top of subject. *During this time of social separation they are offering video tutoring so if you need help reach out! This review is far overdue. But I cannot say enough how I am thankful for this program. I have two sons who are meeting with Gina and Nicole two/ three times a week for reading support. My son's have been attending a Spanish immersion school and with the pandemic it was a tough transition from reading in Spanish to English. With the Waldorf inspired tutoring style, my sons have been showing significant improvement. I've never seen my sons excited to attend their tutoring sessions or to read at that. Since they have improved in their reading, its helped so much with their confidence in other aspects of their lives. I would recommend the Right Approach to Education to any parent who has a child who needs that extra support. Another plus to this program is that they really hone in on the students need and style of learning so that their approach is appropriate for that specific student, (hence the name). We sent our 17 year old to The Right Approach to help her prepare for her first official SAT test this year. She had taken the PSAT and a practice SAT and she was not happy with her scores and needed some help with strategies to finish all the sections before the time was up. We searched locally and checked out several different options, but when we met with the team at The Right Approach, we immediately felt like they were the best ones for us. They worked well with our schedule and our daughter could attend two sessions a week for about two months right up to the SAT. They also offered a practice test and regular assessments along the way that helped to show progress. The Right Approach really helped and after taking the official SAT, our daughter commented that the strategies she learned allowed her to answer a lot more questions with confidence as well as writing one of her best essays yet on the written portion. My family discovered The Right Approach to Education through the stellar recommendation of a trusted friend, whose 2 sons have experienced great success during their tutoring at the center. This a salute to Miguel, an amazing educator that we had the fortune to work with for about 7 months in 2017. Any educational organization that has him as a staff member has a star. We felt that his professionalism, knowledge, and sophistication exceeded our expectations. He has a style that is motivating, passionate, and engaging. The right blend of discipline and youthful energy. He relates with teens and parents. He understands the mechanics of academic success not just subject matter. My son (10 years old/5th grade), who has been diagnosed with ADHD and who has struggled in school for years, has been greatly helped at TRA. He started seeing Jamie last Spring. She been helpful with his self confidence and organization in addition to giving him practical help with his school work. She worked with him over the summer as well, which really helped him not be left behind as school started in the fall. She is patient, calm but enthusiastic, and positive. My son enjoys his time there. My daughter is a good student but we wanted to strengthen some of her math and organization skills as well as keep her reading over the summer. Her summer sessions with Anne were super helpful. Whenever I am in their office dropping off or picking up, I always seem to observe positive interactions between other students and tutors there. I sent my son Marcas the The Right Approach for tutoring at the beginning of last year (third grade). We simultaneously started the process of having him tested for dyslexia. Even though we didn't have the diagnosis for a couple of months, Kara was amazing with Marcas. His writing and reading improved regardless with her tuition. She was very patient and kind and made Marcas feel good about his work. I also sent my daughter to The Right Approach for test prep for the John Hopkins CTY Search. They were terrific in laying out the process for taking the exams and they addressed exam technique as well as sample questions. My son Matthew has been working with Manuel for over a year with amazing results. Manuel helped Matt with the entire college application process, helped him to prepare and significantly improve his ACT scores and guided him through the essay and completion of every form necessary to get into a highly respectable college. Our 12 y.o. son was falling way behind in his writing for 6th grade, even writing a simple focused paragraph was a challenge. He began working with Jamie C. at The Right Approach. Jamie accurately assessed our sons, strengths and weaknesses and managed to find out ways to motivate, push and improve himself independently. My son has been working with Manuel at The Right Approach for about a year now. We first met with Jamie to discuss our son's needs in writing and she suggested that Manuel would be a good fit. And she was exactly right. Manuel is so great in working with my son who is 13 and less than interested in doing school work.
