Our granddaughter has been going to Huntington since second grade. She is currently in third grade and we have seen how she has improved and gained confidence in her math studies. The way schools are teaching math today differs from how we learned many years ago. It can be frustrating for parents and grandparents to help with this new math. Our granddaughter likes her tutor and doesn't complain about going to tutoring and having someone else explain concepts (even though we wish the school that we pay for did a better job at this). A tutor can take the frustration away from us and our granddaughter which helps her to be more open to learning. Huntington has been flexible when a schedule change is necessary. Additionally, it is nice to see how our granddaughter has improved when we meet with Huntington for her progress reports. We are truly grateful to have our 1st Grader attending Huntington Learning Center.  We know our 1st Grader would be so far behind if we had not found them in the beginning of this Fall 2022 school year. Our son has excelled in just 4 months of attending Huntington Learning Center! Please believe me when I say that his academic improvements are night and day now.  In the beginning of the school year while our son was doing his "free-writing" homework we noticed that it wasn't actually writing, it was a bunch of letters, there was nothing to make of it. It is sad for me to say, but we had assumed it would get better from lessons at school. It didn't. Then one night our son shared with us that he was having a difficult time with writing & feels uncomfortable in class with other classmates teasing his writing skills. Immediately I searched for tutoring services. We went with Huntington Learning Center because of the reviews, curriculum offered, and we also felt our son would benefit from their core foundation. We wished we brought him sooner, actually we wished our school got back to teaching things like spelling & phonics, but I digress. We found the right place for our son to learn, gain confidence & excel in a safe & supportive environment. The team at Huntington Learning Center are exceptional. Our son absolutely adores his teacher. Huntington has been fantastic for my daughter and the daughters of my friend. My daughter was struggling with reading and has been thriving since attending Huntington. She loves going! The curriculum is very structured to identify gaps in knowledge and make sure they have the basics addresses to build on! I am an educator, and I have been impressed with the management and tutors. This service is terrible. They charged me for more services than they provided. I ended up needing to bring the claim to Small Claims Court and then having to go through the entire small claims process. If you don't mind wasting hours in court, go ahead and use this service. Hania and Geetanjali are terrible. Don't let them enroll you in the payment plan. I had been paying by credit card for years and suddenly, they wanted me to join a payment plan which cost almost $2,000 to get out of. They said that I would only get charged for what I used and the rest would be refunded back. I ended up paying money just to make it go away. What a ridiculous experience. read more

We are incredibly happy with our experience at Huntington Learning Center. Our first grader was struggling with reading and I felt lost in terms of how best to support her. She just couldn't seem to focus and was falling behind. In the 4 months since we started, I have seen great improvement in reading skills, but most importantly, an increase in her confidence and reading is less of a battle with us. She is happy to be there, loves her tutor, and most importantly, enjoys reading. More recently we have had to switch to online tutoring given the Shelter-in-place order. I was very worried that our successes would come to a halt. It took some adjusting but the tutors and center have been creative in finding ways to keep her engaged and focused during our video sessions. We have our good days and our not so good days when my daughter is less engaged, but the best is when she tells her sister about how fun Huntington is. read more

My son has attended Huntington for about 6 months. Huntington staff was thorough in his initial evaluation and program recommendations. They are professional and patient, adjusting to the needs of their students and parents. My son is progressing and has been able to build relationships with his teachers. My 14 year old son had a great experience with Huntington Learning Center over the summer. He needed help with study skills but also worked on general academic skills to prepare him for high school. The HLC program is thorough and comprehensive - they have their own curriculum, which sets them apart from other tutoring centers, but they were also careful to incorporate my concerns (teaching him to annotate text, take notes and outline). I was also impressed with their ability to be flexible when scheduling challenges cropped up. My son worked one-on-one with a retired teacher. He actually loved the experience (even though it was an hour and a half of intense work) and we would have continued but I can't fit it in during the school year. Huntington Learning Centre has been a great help for our son. He is a 7th grader. We started the lessons for him about 6 months ago when he was struggling with reading and writing. Since his sessions with teachers at HLC, he has shown a tremendous progress in his writing skills. His teacher at school is very impressed with his performance and gave a very positive feedback for our son. The centre director started by identifying his weaknesses and strengths and designed a customized curriculum focused on his needs. The Director has been communicating his progress and the teaching plan with us in great detail, on a regular basis. The teachers at the centre are great and our son is thriving with the personalized attention he is getting. My son took the ACT prep course and he didn't have a lot of time to prepare. The center was willing to adjust their curriculum to work for our timeline and focus on what my son needed. This place is highly professional and is resourceful with tutors. read more

I took my son here when I thought there was no help of him passing his classes. From the very beginning they were so encouraging and told me that if my son worked hard he can pass all grades. Huntington has been of great help for my kids. We started last year when they were in 7th and 9th grades respectively. The teachers here put utmost focus and the curriculum is personalized for the individual. The kids really benefited a lot. Huntington San Mateo has been helping my daughters (5th grader and a freshman) for couple of years now. I had them in the center at different times for different reason. My 5th grader prepared for her ISEE lower level at the center with great results and got her admission in the middle school of her choice. My freshmen started with prepping to get into advanced Math class when she was in 8th grade. She came back to Huntington for help with geometry honor level class. The center has helped , guided and prepared my kids for success every single time. Every teacher that helped them were very knowledgeable. A special shout-out to the Geometry teacher who is helping my freshmen, for restoring her confidence in the subject. I wish to give more stars if I could. my daughter, who is going to 8th grade in the fall, haven been with the center for two years. our experience is absolutely positive. their curriculum is truly individualized! The center is under great leadership with experienced and caring teachers. The owner Geetanjali is one of the best people I have ever met, she is truly passionate to help each family and student to fulfill their specific need. She works with the teachers to tailor the curriculum to best serve each student's goals, communicate with family regularly, and stay on top to make sure the student advances as much as possible! Miranda in the office is very helpful with scheduling. Since COVID pandemic, they launched online sessions promptly with the same high standard as in-person sessions. My daughter absolutely LOVES her teacher Mark, who is an amazing seasoned teacher! He genuinely cares for his students and go above and beyond to help my daughter to reach her full potential! read more

Huntington was a great ACT prep choice for my daughter, who took the ACT this past winter (December 2019). My daughter has ADHD, so she has trouble focusing, working rapidly through tests without a break, and completing assignments by herself at home. At Huntington, she got a lot of personal attention and one-on-one interactive instruction which suited her learning style very well. The center director, Geetanjali Bahl, was really thoughtful in observing her, and tailoring the test prep sessions to accommodate her specific needs. Prep sessions were paced so that she could stay focused, and she was allowed to come in early and work at the center so she wouldn't fall behind by skipping work at home. She learned test-taking strategies which allowed her to complete the tests - a big difference from her early practice tests where she left half the test unanswered. She felt supported and encouraged through the whole preparation period. Finally, Geetanjali also gave me invaluable guidance in requesting ACT testing accommodations and scheduling the testing sessions over multiple days so my daughter could come to each portion of the test fresh and focused. She got in to her top-choice school and couldn't be happier with the results! read more

Huntington has been the absolute biggest help for me in terms of achieving my academic goals. I came in with the hopes of achieving a higher SAT score and the teachers and staff helped me realize that I was stronger at the ACT and from there I was able to drastically improve my score by six points. Going from a 28 to a 34. The entire Huntington staff is so devoted to helping their students achieve their goals while maintaining a fun and positive learning environment.
