Originally, the celebration we planned was supposed to take place in August 2019, but it had to be moved to April 25, 2020. There was no major issue with doing so, but there was a delay with communication with the Nest's staff. As graduations have been delayed/cancelled for the spring classes and social distancing has been enforced, the graduate decided to cancel the party altogether as many of the guests had to travel from out of the area to attend the event. On April 1st, we notified the facility to inform them that we would like to cancel the party due to the pandemic and that we would like a refund for the deposit. We did not receive a response until May 1st, a month later and nearly a week after the event was supposed to take place, that we would not be able to receive a full refund for the deposit. The representative mentioned that the fine print states that you cannot receive a refund, but the contract does not state refunds for deposits cannot be issued. She offered to postpone the event again, but the graduate has moved to another state so this isn't an option. After mentioning this to the representative, she mentioned sending half of the money to cashapp. Again, the facility is nice, but in order to deliver top notch service it would have been wonderful to have a more attentive planner and to conduct a business with a venue that abides by the contract.

The cocktail hour outside during golden hour was such a beautiful start and setting to celebrate their love. The weather was also cooler which was ideal. I know a lot of venues for weddings are pretty strict for who can cater but it was nice to see that this venue was flexible as it was a cater that I was used to seeing at Vietnamese wedding all across Florida. When we went inside, it was a huge ballroom and was decorated nicely. I have no critiques that could make my day anymore perfect! The entire staff is EXTREMELY accommodating, everything was perfect! Even though my wedding was 3 months ago, I still have family members contacting me about the atmosphere, the food, the venue as a whole, and all they say is positive complements! There is absolutely no need for a wedding planner if you have Marywood Retreat Center as your venue, everything will be taken care of. I had this venue booked 2 years in advance and as of right now, they are only accepting Catholic members... But the planning and wedding went flawless. Went to go visit a friend who lives here and it is a gated community. The gate keepers are very…read morethorough so make sure you've been called in prior to coming if you're visiting someone or you may be waiting at the gate awhile. Right when you drive in, you see the beauty of the greens and the golfers enjoying their day. The roads are easily marked with signs and the gate keeper is very helpful giving directions once you're cleared to go inside. There are tons of big houses and very friendly people. Watch your speed as there is a policeman who patrols the area. Other than that, it is a super safe community where kids can actually play outside without having to worry about them too much.
