When visiting Edinburgh, everyone knows The Milkman is a must try spot. A staple to the quiet,…read morequaint yet bustling corner of Old Town, The Milkman menu features a small, simple yet unique offering of pastries, coffee & tea. It is the perfect spot for those on the go as seating is very limited. Inside, you'll find the place to be quite charming. Stone covered walls, warm lighting & the aroma of freshly made coffee makes this place feel like one out of a storybook. Both times I've gone, I was greeted by the friendly staff who did a wonderful job keeping everything in order as it was quite busy. I usually don't opt for hot coffee, but as it was a cold and rainy day, I opted for what I believe was a brown sugar honey latte. For munching, I had the strawberry croissant. The coffee itself was very small in size, but it had great flavor. It was subtle, with the perfect amount of sweetness. The croissant was flaky and the layers of the dough filled crust were incredibly delicious. is it the best coffee I've ever had? Certainly not, but the service and the charm of the cafe make it all well worth It. It truly is a must try spot when visiting Edinburgh. Stop in for a hot cup of coffee, take a stroll and get carried way in the streets of Edinburgh.

This place makes me want to move across town.. no joke…read more If you are serious about coffee, Mr Eion is an ABSOLUTE.MUST.VISIT. I popped in today and there were 8 different beans on offer, how does one even choose?? I chose the much tweeted about Tiger Stripe & the amusingly named Moustache Twirler - which I'm told makes one want to grow a moustache if one doesn't have one already!! (Not sure my mo' growing abilities are up to scratch for this task!) Note that this is NOT a cafe.. there are no tables, no seats and they don't sell cups of coffee... they do however stock coffee cups, v60, aeropress, filters, ceramic hand grinders and hopefully soon, some tampers... In the place of seats and tables, you will find hessian bags of raw coffee, waiting to be roasted on site in the fabulous looking red Diedrich roaster. With an ethos of having a few staple beans & then a selection of 'when it's gone it's gone' beans, it will no doubt warrant many return visits to see what's on offer!

I request a flat white and rejoiced at every mouthful. No sugar required and I shall be listing this Coffee establishment on my blog! There are no cakes, just good honest hot beverages. I'll be planning another trip for another cuppa and some beans too very soon. Chatty man behind the machine too.

They know how to get people in and out efficiently without feeling rushed, and they know how to maximize on space. We came in as our first meal off the plane, jet lag and all. By comparison England needs a big boost (I am trying but I need more help folks....). Anyway back to WofM. We found it on Yelp and it was just around the corner from our AirBNB. It has been around for about a decade and is basically not much more than a hole in the wall. Disregard appearances from across the street - it maybe a bit dark inside but it is clean and the staff upbeat. They serve only breakfast and lunch. We took breakfast - both the coffee and the full breakfast were good and good value for money. I understand why they don't open for dinner - soooo many good options in Edinburgh. However would I recommend for breakfast or all day lunch (I uploaded a pic of the menu) YES! If I am back in Edinburgh and close then I will definitely revisit Review #81 2019
