All sandwiches came with either crisps or salad and the soup had plenty of fresh bread on the side. A selection of drinks from hot chocolate, coffee, chocolate milkshake and tea was lovely too. As always the stroll around the farm shop afterwards is always full of lovely local produce and I always find something tasty to buy :-)

Saturdays are really busy so was glad I decided last minute to book a table. The menu is filled with sandwiches, bagels, paninis etc and all come with soup for £5.95 which is a bargain when you see the portions. However the most popular order seemed to be the high tea for two, which at £5 per person is amazing! The atmosphere is lovely, with a mix of couple, familes and quite a few grannies being treated to tea and cakes by their grandkids. The decor is nothing fancy, but the setting and welcoming staff easily makes up for it There is fabulous selection of Suki teas and homemade baking. Soups of the day this week were tomato with basil and potato and leek. Last wee I tried the curried butternut squash which was amazing! The setting is lovely and the food is well worth the 15min drive from Dennistoun. There is a garden centre and lovely views onto the loch so you could easily spend a few hours over a coffee, chatting and escaping city life. It's a quaint little cafe and deli with brilliant views of the Forth Road and Rail Bridge our little girl loved watching the trains going by overhead. The food was delicious all fresh, homemade produce! Both me and my hubby opted for the Broccoli and Stilton Soup for starters which was delicious, hot and just what we needed on a cold day. We both didn't want the bowl to end it was delicious! Hubby had the special which was an Aberdeen Angus burger with fries and sides this was juicy and delicious! I opted for a deli style toasty with bacon, Brie and tomato salsa this again was delicious. My little one was also well catered for with a kids platter which was only £2.50!! This was a great little idea with a plate of little bits and bobs for her to pick at including raisins, grapes, little crudités, some lovely deli sliced ham, a dairylea dunker and a peppa pig yoghurt, she absolutely loved this and kept her interested in her food. After we demolished all this we then ordered a carafe of coffee and a large slice of the mocca chocca cake this was delightful. A half between a coffee and chocolate cake very delicate and light and the filling was delicious. The coffee was also REAL coffee, real grinded beans, nice hot & strong with a kick. All of this plus drinks and our bill was £35!!, total bargain and not a scrap was left! While they had plenty of tables most of them were booked ahead for lunch. The staff was SO gracious: 1) They still seated us - as long as we were able to be in and out within an hour, 2) They still offered us the breakfast menu despite it being very much 11:30 when they switch to the lunch menu, 3) They double and triple checked that things were vegan, not because we asked but because the young man serving us genuinely wanted to (we even told him he didn't have to go back and forth to the kitchen, but he just did). We got iced americanos that were LOVELY: tall glasses filled with ice and strong, good coffee. And we each got the smashed avocado toast without the poached egg: it was a slice of gently toasted artisan bread with whole vibe tomatoes and a drizzle of spicy bloody mary sauce (which could have been way more spicy, but it was still SO good!). They even discounted our avocado toast because we didn't get the egg... this rarely happens, and it was such a delightful, unexpected surprise. The whole experience was.
