Basically, you order at a bar and you bring it over to a table. The food menu is quite limited. I posted a menu picture. We ordered beer and wine, two hamburgers and a Turkey BLT with fries. The Tavern is known for their hamburgers. Food is just fair. My turkey BLT was okay. Fries could've been much better. I had a taste of the burger. It was pretty good. Only after we ate, a server did come by for drink orders. The Tavern has a very nice outdoor garden seating area for the warmer weather. Basically, I think this place is just best to stop in for a few drinks. A small, very tight parking lot is available. In addition, street parking is available but be prepared to walk a distance.

We ordered the Forest Ave roast beef sandwich and the fried shrimp appetizer with bang bang sauce. The shrimp had a nice crunch, and the bang bang sauce was good, but its flavor was a bit mild and plain; some garnish like chives can definitely elevate this appetizer further! Our sandwich unfortunately came without the bacon jam and maple bourbon, which meant it was just roast beef double dunked with Gruyère cheese. Unfortunately we didn't realize it until near the end, and although our waitress apologized and brought us a side of the bacon jam, by then we only had a quarter of it left which was a bummer. The roast beef was perfectly cooked and the gravy was rich and deliciously beefy, but the extra Au jus was a bit pricy for how little it was, where it came in the same small plastic sauce container instead of a small bowl/ceramic. I'm sure this doesn't happen often that half the sandwich ingredients were left out, so I guess we were just unlucky we didn't realize sooner, but it nonetheless detracted from our experience and we were charged the full price for the meal. Overall The Point Tavern has a lot of potential of being amazing and serve probably the best roast beef in all of Staten Island; I really wish them the best with their varied roast beef selections! What's the secret at the Point Tavern in Staten Island? They keep things simple! This review is based on my visit this past Saturday Evening - 21 June 2025. Bartender Mike is a true Mensch, if that's even possible, in a place like Staten Island, but he was truly a gem and kept the drinks flowing. This is truly a neighborhood watering hole that is frequented by many, including some friendly and beautiful teachers from the local school across the way. You are struck with an immediate vibe of friendliness and happiness, and visitors to the Point Tavern are truly treated like family. My great friend, "Uncle Anthony," and I enjoyed ourselves sitting and relaxing at the bar. There was a wide selection of draft beers on tap, and the mixed drinks were delicious. Obviously the outside is traditional to the moon but once you go in it is a mix of character and new age bliss. They only have one happy hour special at the moment which is a beer, a burger and a shot for $10 which can't be leaked. Unfortunately I wasn't opting for the burger but I was able to get a beer and add a $2 shot to get the most bang for my buck. The tap collection is a great mix. It's one of the few places that has a a selection of local New York Piers, including harp lager, but then you always have your traditional Sam Adams, which this time was a winter white air and of course PBR. The beers come in 10 oz mugs which is an interesting size. They range from $5 to $8 at this moment. And the well liquor is not the type that will give you a headache unless you're just drinking it in excess. When I came there was no one there but it was a slow Monday. Either way the service was great. The music mix was fun and very diverse as well as they have three TVs that you can adjust. Pool tables, arcade game. Retro lounge chairs with a cute custom table. I'm a sucker for a bar where I can go by myself until the home and this one did the trick. Prices are reasonable but I miss the $3 beer days lol Since I didn't get the food and I do think the price is a bit high for the area and giving it four stars. But honestly for what it is I would pay a dollar extra for a beer here versus some other places.
