Pot roast and mozzarella cheese-very good!

Not only is the owner a fantastic doctor, but he owns a great bar! We came for guest bartender day. We hung with another one of our favorite doctors while sipping some great beers on tap and eating delicious food. We began with the pretzels. They were served with cheese and mustard. Two dips-score! My husband loved his pot roast sandwich. Apparently it's a fan favorite because they were flying out of the kitchen. My grilled chicken wrap was delicious. The chicken was tender and bacon crispy. It was served with a lot of delicious fries. The owner has a friendly, upbeat personality that radiates throughout his bar. If you're looking for a positive vibe with some delicious food and drinks-stop in. You won't be disappointed!

My wife and I a few weeks ago had a conversation about trying out a new spot Doc Hennigans that recently opened up in our neighborhood within walking distance from our home. After a visit to one of our favorite doctors and the best Podiatrist Dr. Craig Campbell, in his waiting area I see this Staten Island Advance article on the wall about this tavern. Talk about a small world after reading the article I find out Dr. Campbell is the co-owner of this establishment. After chatting with the Doc during my visit I expressed my full support of his new venture and decided to swing by with the misses for a Friday date night. What a cool unique tavern filled with classic rock in roll memorabilia, locals from the area, with some great tunes playing. They have a few tv screens on the wall along with some tables and a backyard patio. My wife and I sat by the bar area and were warmly welcomed by Lori our bartender, we ordered a classic Tito's Vodka Cosmopolitan and a Blue Point Colder Lager on tap. Doc Hennigans has several beers on tap along with a full selection of spirits of your choosing. The tavern had a warm friendly vibe, catering to all clients. The menu while small but simple with more to come the food was comforting. I ordered the Pastrami on Rye which was fantastic and my wife ordered the Cuban sandwich which honestly she would have preferred if the sandwich was pressed like a classic Cuban panini. Nonetheless the food was delicious along with the fresh macaroni salad, they have a nice variety of classic sandwiches to choose from so you won't leave disappointed. Plus Chef Miguel does some amazing cooking in such a small kitchen. All in all we had a fabulous time, were entertained by some local conversation especially when the Doc himself the classic rockstar, rolled into the bar with his misses Awilda. We certainly will be back to support this fine establishment, we wish them well with this new business venture with many years of continued success. Cheers to Doc Hennigans, see you soon.

A good clean friendly neighborhood bar. And great food on the nights that the kitchen is open. What more can you ask for?

Meatball app was fresh, pot roast sandwich was perfect and the chicken and broccoli soup was legitimately the best I've ever had..

We ordered the Forest Ave roast beef sandwich and the fried shrimp appetizer with bang bang sauce. The shrimp had a nice crunch, and the bang bang sauce was good, but its flavor was a bit mild and plain; some garnish like chives can definitely elevate this appetizer further! Our sandwich unfortunately came without the bacon jam and maple bourbon, which meant it was just roast beef double dunked with Gruyère cheese. Unfortunately we didn't realize it until near the end, and although our waitress apologized and brought us a side of the bacon jam, by then we only had a quarter of it left which was a bummer. The roast beef was perfectly cooked and the gravy was rich and deliciously beefy, but the extra Au jus was a bit pricy for how little it was, where it came in the same small plastic sauce container instead of a small bowl/ceramic. I'm sure this doesn't happen often that half the sandwich ingredients were left out, so I guess we were just unlucky we didn't realize sooner, but it nonetheless detracted from our experience and we were charged the full price for the meal. Overall The Point Tavern has a lot of potential of being amazing and serve probably the best roast beef in all of Staten Island; I really wish them the best with their varied roast beef selections! Please give them a try and just check your sandwich before digging into it! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

The building was previously The Century Inn and is one of the oldest continuously operated restaurants in New York City. It has a great history and I think the current bar dates back to the mid 19th century. After the sale a couple of years ago, the new owners kept the German themed menu, beer list and most of the decor. The decor and overall ambiance of the place is great. We were here on a Thursday night at around 6pm. It was empty. I think while we were there, maybe two other tables were occupied. There were a couple of patrons at the bar so it was relatively quiet. The food was ok, nothing special. I had the chicken cutlet Schnitzel which came with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. It was pretty bland overall. The vegetables may have come out of a can, not sure though. My cousins ordered the wurst sampler and he said it was fine. Again, the food was okay and not as good or hearty like I remembered it being. I know the spring and summer season are coming and the beer garden will be open soon. They had posters up that had the upcoming music lineup. That was always fun. Check it out if you happen to be out on Staten Island.

Best mozzarella sticks I've ever had, each stick had a nice thick piece of mozzarella, they were crispy, marinara dipping sauce was tasty as well 2. Delicious chicken tenders, classic diner style, wide and flat pieces of chicken, crispy, just how I like em! 3. Large projector screen in the back room with speakers, we had no problem seeing or hearing the Bachelor! CONS: 1. The service was pretty slow, it seemed like there was only one server there who was also the bartender but since this was on a Monday night, it's probably not usually as busy as it was when I went Besides the food I mentioned, we also had the garlic/butter pretzel with beer cheese and mustard which I enjoyed but the rest of my group found that the cheese was weird and not typical beer cheese. We also got Mac and cheese balls which I didn't try so can't comment and for dessert we had the smores brownie which was basic, I probably wouldn't get it again. Overall, I definitely want to come back, it's only been one day and I'm already craving the chicken fingers and mozz sticks
