My husband and I went here for the first time recently. We enjoyed the drive, the scenery was so pretty getting us there and back, and loved the decor in the restaurant, as a matter of fact, I would give the decor in the restaurant a five 5 . Also, when we first arrived, we were nicely greeted, and we were excited to be there, but that quickly ended when we were served our food. I ordered a hamburger with fried mushrooms and he ordered a steak sandwich with tater tots. I really enjoyed my mushrooms and the ranch dressing was good, I would give those a clear five 5 . But my hamburger was one of the worst, if not the worst, I've had it in an LONG time and I would give it a one 1. Not only was the hamburger patty, very thin, but it was VERY well done, it actually looked black and charred in some places. When I tried to eat it, parts of it were crunchy, there was no seasoning that I could taste at all on it, and when I tried to add salt, twice, and ranch dressing to spice it up, I still couldn't eat it. The bread that was on the sandwich was decent, but the meat tasted so bad to me that I left half of it there. Please know that I tried and even gave my husband two pieces of the meat from my hamburger, and he only ate one of them and left the other on his plate. My husband ordered a steak sandwich and said he would give it a two 2. I know he was disappointed with it and we really wish we would've had a much better experience with the food because we would've loved to have gone there again. He said he thought it tasted like the steak had been cooked before and re-cooked, he's guessing to reheat it. We don't know if that was the case, but he said that's what it tasted like and my husband's actually a good cook and has a strong understanding about cuisine. He also wondered if his tater tots had been pre-cooked and then cooked again. He said when he picked them up and tried to eat them, they fell apart. I was still hungry when I left there, so we came home and he fixed something else for my dinner. We were very nicely greeted when we arrived, but no one ever asked us how our food was either while we were at the table or when my husband went to pay for the meal. The restaurant was not crowded at all, and there would have been ample time for someone to do that. I did think the decor was very cute and I even took some pictures of it and would give that a five 5 , would give my deep fried mushrooms and the ranch dressing, a five 5 , but I would give my hamburger a one 1 and my husband would give his meal a two2. I'm sorry to say this, we really wanted it to be a positive dining experience. read more
