I've been to more escape rooms than I have teeth (and I have all of my teeth) and I must say, this was the worst First of all, the context inside of the rooms needs improvement..... tell me why there's a bunch of squares on a table and they require a specific order when the objects aren't even square On top of that, whoever was working tonight seemed like he could care less to be working there, had zero enthusiasm Furthermore, the solve for the room was displayed on a TV monitor 2 rooms separate to the room we were in when we hit the button, I'm not exactly sure how we're supposed to magically see a TV monitor two rooms away as we solve the room It's just not set up in a way that makes any sense The puzzles really had minimal context and solving the room requires you to somehow magically know that as you solve the room you are expected to have one person in one room and another person two rooms away in the room that you thought you already solved It was just a very weird experience to say the least However I will give this 2 stars as the escape room is cheaper than any of the others I've been to Finally, I don't recommend read more

I was expecting to have a good experience here because of the high reviews but the first red flag we experienced was the phone call. When we called the escape room to tell them that we weren't going to make it 15 minutes early, whoever picked up the phone was so unprofessional. The second one was when we were actually in the room, we kept trying to get a hint and kept pressing the button. We waited for about 7 minutes until someone helped us out so we wasted time there. The third issue we had was when we needed another hint but that item we were supposed to be looking for was missing. It took over 15minutes for the person over seeing us to realize that and instead of giving us our time back, we just had to accept that we wasted that time for no reason. The final issue was when we were in the final room and needed a hint, they gave us a hint to something we had already solved so it showed they weren't actually paying attention to what we were doing. Honestly, I try giving the benefit of a doubt for small businesses like this but it was just one of the worst experiences I've had with an escape room, especially with the amount this experience costed... read more

My mom and I recently tried the golden treasure escape room (not sure if that's what it was actually called), and it was a blast! We were able to solve the first two rooms, but unfortunately, we ran out of time before we could finish the third. The puzzles were challenging but not impossible, and the room was well-designed and immersive. We had such a fun time doing the Treasure Island escape room! My daughter wanted to try one for her 11th birthday. They made her day extra special by noting her birthday on the sign out front and giving her a cupcake afterwards. We were pretty bad at solving the first few puzzles, and the employees were very gracious in giving us clues (and not counting all of them either...). All of the kids had a blast and I appreciated that The Room went above and beyond my expectations to give my daughter a fun, memorable birthday experience. read more

This place is amazing! I'm so glad to see an escape room on the west finally. From the moment you walk in, this place is much different than the rest. I feel like everywhere you go, there is an empty room with a desk to check you in. This place is decorated properly and has a nice waiting area. Our group didn't drink but I still think it's a good idea to have drinks for those who would like it. We did the Blackout Motel and it was great. Usually you get some form of story in escape rooms but this was the first time I felt submerged into the story and actually felt like I was a character in it. The host was actually really funny and had a great attitude from beginning to end, you can tell she likes her job. Serenity was VERY accommodating of our group and did an outstanding job making sure all of our needs were met (drinks served, rules understood, etc.). We loved it so much we decided to come back and do Blackout Motel. *SPOILERS BELOW* Blackout Motel: To begin with, we were told prior to our time starting that there was nothing to with the bed at all or undoing the bed... not true, and should be worded more clearly. We were also told not to undress anything and if it didn't come out easy, then it wasn't meant to come out. Hate to say it but the guy had a jacket on with THUMB HOLDERS holding his hands to the body which prevented us from moving forward! Sooooo annoying and disappointing. To further emphasize the situation, we carried the mannequin and because of the sweater being on the hand, that didn't work either, only come to find out the hand was supposed to come out. We were able to fit all 10 girls plus two adults in the room at the same time, which was a selling point for us. The girls successfully completed the Treasure Island room with time to spare. Worst escape room I have ever been to. Paid over $100 for this horrible experience. I have done MANY escape rooms in the past and have never been this disappointed. Our game master would not give us extra hints even though we made it clear we did not care about a leaderboard or anything, we just wanted to solve it. Plus the hints we did get were horrible. They did not help in any way and when we asked for a clarification, she took away another hint. The puzzles in the room had to be PERFECT in order for it to work. We had an item placed A CENTIMETER OFF and it didn't work. We even asked why it wasn't working because we knew we dis it right. To that we only got ignored. Please don't waste your time or money here. Also the owner responded to another review extremely passive aggressively so that alone really tells you a lot about this business. Yikes. read more

Usually have a good time and the game masters are typically very attentive and quick however this time Chloe and Jeremiah were our game masters and they took 2+ minutes for clues after being asked but when we touched anything they were quick to tell us not to. Every minute counts with these rooms and it's just frustrating that we weren't given the experience you expect. They also Let us sit there for 7 minutes at the end because the door didn't open without telling us what went wrong so we lost. I don't care about losing, we have lost rooms there in the past, I'm frustrated that we we're basically ignored which added frustration. read more

The waiting room/bar was beautifully decorated and staff was super friendly and helpful! We did the Treasure Island room and had a lot of fun! Our game master was helpful and prompt with hints. The room itself was themed well with decor, lighting, and ambient music/sounds. And since the Treasure Island room has you change from a boat interior to an island, the second room has sand which I thought was a nice touch! The puzzles ranged in levels of difficulty, so the experience didn't feel monotone. The only criticism I have is that the rooms were pretty small so I would recommend sticking with a smaller group (4 people seems like a good amount to me) even though you can book up to 12. I definitely plan on returning and trying out the other rooms and I recommend this business to all, even if you're a escape room expert or if you've never done one before! read more

This is the 4th escape room I have ever been to and hands down the best experience. I have never written a Yelp review but felt compelled after going here. First off all the decor throughout the place is amazing! (Even the bathrooms are beautiful) I wanted to hang out and have a drink but maybe another time. I came with my two sons. We did the Treasure Island room. The minute I walked into the room I was impressed. I had read a review complaining about the sand but they let you know there is no need to dig through it so it really added to the authenticity of the room and we were prepared and wore slides and flops. I'm not a fan of sand either but this sand wasn't like the sand on a beach. We all actually commented how much we all liked it. The clues were challenging and unique. Everything was in proper working order which is a big deal for an escape room. We have been to rooms where things weren't functioning properly and it ruins the whole experience. We used 1 clue and ended up coming out with twenty minutes to spare. Both my boys want to go back and do another room there we had so much fun. It's in a great location also. I'm almost afraid to do another escape room because it will probably be a let down after enjoying a top notch experience! read more

Previously blackout motel was our favorite (with the pirate one very close behind) but I think asylum beat it out. I must say I was excited to try it out with the kids the turn around was not good I am allergic to dust and the front desk personal advised to go on the treasure island room after going to the second room the sand was going up it was very hard to breath I don't recommend this one for family's with kids or people who are allergic to dust they should really ask customers or aware them of the dust. I personally didn't enjoy that room because it was hard to breath and there is no fan on the second room just on the first one. The rooms are set up nicely, but the staff gives you unwanted hints and ruins the challenge for you. They tell you, you only get 4 hints, but even though you never ask for help they take it upon themselves to help you out anyway.
