I had a small piece of glass embedded in an upper eyelid which had resisted removal by myself for several days, but it was dealt with competently and swiftly. I had to wait for an appointment to be fitted into their schedule, but when called it was only five minutes late near the end of the day. Other peoples' mileage may differ, but I have nothing but praise for this hospital.

Although there is no longer an accident and emergancy available at the hospital, it is a very busy hospital. Personally, I have used it for pregnancy scans and other x-rays, blood tests, midwife appointments, and out of hours gp visits. Without these, I would have had to travel 25 minutes to the nearest larger hospital, and having the emergancy doctor close by is so important, as without it I would have been wasting valuable time of the paramedics had I needed to call an ambulance. The hospital also takes care of a lot of the elderly members of the community, and the younger, by having a bay clinic twice a week. It would be a real shame and loss to the community if the hospital were to close down.

Reception staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, even at the busiest of times. Equally as good are the pharmacy staff. The doctors too really are superb and always treat patients individually and as a whole personnot just as a symptom! All staff at the surgery really get to know their patients too.isn't it a shame all surgeries are not the same?

The surgery is centrally located on Bancroft right next door to a chemist which is handy for picking up prescriptions after you've paid a visit. The surgery itself is clean and efficient, with kiddy playthings to amuse them while you wait and their administration is good - sending reminder for vaccinations etc as and when they are due. My only gripe is the telephone booking system - if you need an appointment that day then you need to be on the phone at 8am sharp (not a second before or you'll get the answerphone) to stand a decent chance of getting an appointment.

If you want the reassurance of a birth with proffessionals and equipment to hand, within a 'just like home' environement, then this is the place for you. Private rooms have birthing pools/ balls/ armchairs etc to make your birth as relaxed as possible. After the birth, the rooms have double beds for partners to stay and really are like a bedroom at home. The staff are fantastic and will give you as much/ little support as you want. i cannot rate this hospital enough.only wish there was a super positive extra star to give it in the ratings on Qype!

The doctors were experienced, polite, friendly and very considerate. The opening hours were slightly restrictive however. One of the best things about this surgery is the pharmacy dispenser on site. It is so convenient to be able to collect your medicine instantly, and I really believe that all doctors surgeries should operate an in-house pharmacy for the most common medicines. The receptionists here are all polite and efficient, and the waiting room area is much nicer than some that I have had the misfortune of visiting.

The surgery is rather large and it is not easy to see the same GP in a row. They have a very good emergency system and you are always seen on the day if neccessary. The waiting area is ok plenty of magazines. The seats are comfortable but do find it a bit cold in there sometimes.

I hope we do not move fast again because this is a safe place to be taken care of.
