Thankfully Enid Blighton seems to be out of fashion now, not because the books are unsuitable for children or badly written but because of the Famous Five and in particular the character 'Uncle Quentin'. Why this seemingly insane problem with a perfectly harmless fictional character? Because friends, I have just become Uncle Quentin, me, the real thing!, As of 2.35 Sunday morning I have a new niece - Roisin, she is tremendous! We went to visit a proud mom and dad later on Sunday afternoon and were astonished at the level of security measures in the Hospital, no more than 2 visitors at a time and strictly enforced. Don't bother to try to get them to bend the rules, it wont happen. The hospital is clean and modern and has a relaxed atmosphere... so long as visitors and patients behave themselves, there is a feeling of strictness about the place which rather leads One to believe that if you put a foot out of place it would be gently but efficiently.... er ...removed. Five stars!

The Rotunda Hospital officially was the first maternity hospital in Britain or Ireland and was at one point the largest in the world. The hosiptal used to be totally dependent on fundraising so the design of the building was to aid that cause. There was the actual hospital and the social rooms, that is the Rotunda. James Gandon did some of the design. The Ambassador cinema and the Gate Theatre used to be part of it.

Saw a triage nurse within 15 minutes. No follow up care since. No query as to my symptoms worsening or improving. Hospital Nurses and Dr amazing but the emergency department is no longer fit for purpose. Its too small, over crowded and cramped. People on trolleys packed in like sardines. Dr and nurses constantly shuffling trolleys jus to make contact and get to side of a patient to examine them. People in A&E tying up beds in A&E because they cant be admitted to wards, during the night. Knock on effect. A&E staff have no space to work with patients out in waiting rooms Also think the computer system is inadequate and outdated. Im witnessing to many Dr spending far too much time sitting at computers instead of carrying out primary care function. Whichvis seeing and evaluating patients. Bring a sleeping bag, pillow, phone charger, food and water with you. So you can lie down on floor while you wait. It will be more vomfotable than chairs provided and some seating is outdoors in a tent that was temporarily erected to deal with covid but is now in everyday use.

STAY AWAY from him.
