Since moving to Rochester in December 2016, I have had a wonderful experience with the Ruff Break. I highly recommend the Ruff Break for anyone who treats their dogs like family. I had a great dog walker experience previously in Iowa City, and I was nervous about finding reliable care while I work for my lab, Cricket. The Ruff Break did not disappoint. Before beginning regular dog walks, two team members met me and Cricket in my home in the evening to become familiar with her. Cricket has gone on jogging outings, bike outings, pack walks, and thousands of good ol' fashion one-on-one dog walks with Ruff Break team members. On occasion, I work from home during the day, and I see Cricket coming and going in the middle of the day for her Ruff Break. The team members reliably provide her care for the full length of the planned visit. In addition to the exercise, the team members provide positive attention. A couple of times Ruff Break team members have texted a photo of Cricket during her outing. When there has been a new team member added to Cricket's team, one of the seasoned team members has accompanied the new team member for their first outing with Cricket. Whether I am working days, evenings/nights, or weekends, the Ruff Break gives me peace of mind that Cricket is happy and getting the exercise and attention she needs. I've used this company for years and love the service they provide. I know a lot of folks use them for exercise breaks while at long shifts at work, but for my very old dog I use them for pet sitting instead of boarding him elsewhere (which my dog does not like at all). It's somewhat comparable to boarding prices, depending how many times a day and how long you want them to be around while you're gone. The main advantage for my dog is he gets to sleep in his own bed, be in surroundings he knows while I'm out of town. They'll do food, water, medicine, entertain him and take him out for walks, when I get back he acts pretty much as before I left (with maybe a bit more tail-wagging). I would highly recommend their service to anyone with dogs who do not well with boarding services. read more

The Ruff Break is a reliable service that gives your dog get your dog needed exercise in a low stress way. I get a notification by text when my dog is out for a walk and updates if there is anything they notice about how she is doing. The owners are great with communicating too. I have used them for watching and walking her when I am out of town and they will pick up mail and bring in packages during that time for no extra charge. My dog had been going to dog daycare and it was making her anxious. She is so much calmer with getting dedicated exercise time with the Ruff Break. I highly recommend them. read more

I have used Ruff Break for five years. When we brought our first Siberian Husky home, we had no idea how much energy it was going to take to keep a Husky happy. Ruff Break has been exercising him and now our 2nd Husky ever since. We've had them run, bike, and even roller blade with our dogs. I trust them in my home when I'm away, and have many instances that I've been home and just couldn't exercise them as well as Ruff Break can. We've been using Ruff Break for a couple of years. My family is at work and school during the day, and it's great to know our dog is getting some exercise and attention during the day. We also saw a big improvement in her behavior in the evenings. I've had walkers alert me to garage doors left open or anything unexpected with the house. I get good communication about bad weather, how to handle cold days, etc. We do occasionally book additional breaks online if we're going to be gone in the evening, and that's a very handy option. We have been using Ruff Break about two years. We have two high energy dogs and the crew have done a great job making sure they get their exercise. They tailor the intensity of the exercise to the needs of each dog (with walks as well as running with the bike). They are attentive regarding pad health in cold weather too. We have used Ruff Break for six years now. Without their help and expertise, we would not be able to keep dogs. Our dogs would go nuts crated all day without exercise. I have found Ruff Break to be flexible, responsive, and helpful. When a dog has an issue like a limp or an illness, I get a text, with follow up appropriately. I also really appreciate the exercise the dogs get. I couldn't provide that, yet it helps in so many ways. read more
