Fine. Tuesday comes and goes and nobody turns up (I paid extra to have it delivered by 10:30 am too, and not even this was refunded as a matter pf principle). I call them and they said oh ok, we'll deliver it tomorrow then !!!!!!! Anyway, it arrives on Wednesday and after unpacking it, I realized it was wrong for my living room so I phoned them to organize a return. The rug was properly rolled up tightly AND tied with string securely. I was not able to reuse the orignal packaging as this was a very tight plastic wrapping which you could only cut to be able to get the rug out Total con, now that I think about it. Anyway, long story short, they receive it and send me an email saying the rug was loose. soiled and not in sellable condition so I would not be refunded my money. Clearly this was a complete exaggeration AND not our fault given it was impossible to reuse their packaging and the courier must have slightly dirtied the sides. Absolute liars and ridiculous customer service. We called them and an idiot named Paul said to write an email stating the facts and he would speak about it to his manager so we did, only to receive in return a one liner email saying nothing has changed, we won't refund you. We even offered to have the rug cleaned professionally (and believe me, it could have probably been brushed off!) When my partner called to speak to the manager the idiot Paul said he wouldn't pass him the phone nor give him his name!!!!!! What kind of thieving operation is this?????? NEVER buy anything from these bandits.

I found this to be bordering on rude as they knew I was waiting to speak to them. When I finally got prices from them I then asked for prices from several other Natuzzi stores for the identical products. The price was the same from all the other Natuzzi stores and was £500 cheaper than Barton Square! I bought from one of the other Natuzzi stores and I'm glad I did so as the attitude of the staff at the Barton Square store didn't deserve my custom.

Carpeteria (seriously, every time I type it it's both a struggle and a joy) is the kind of place that's full from the floor to the ceiling with massive rolls of carpet. When I went in, I just wanted to put my hand on all the new soft carpet and, well, feel how new and soft it was. I can report that it felt soft and new. Rugs aren't really Carpeteria's thing, but the pleasant sales assistant did show me the two or three they did have. They weren't really the kind of thing I was looking for, but he was nice enough about it. If I ever need to carpet anything, Carpeteria is where I will be heading.

So, to Dunelm Mill I headed today to indulge my passion and laugh at little children being dragged there by their mums. It ain't the prettiest shop, it has basic displays and is akin to a homeware hypermarket, but this shop has everything you need and more. Fantastic quality bedding, scrumptious cushions and bone china sit alongside dodgy fake flowers, scented candles and funky blinds. On the upper level resides the haberdashers selling gorgeous fabrics, voiles and oilcloths. There is also a cafe for you to take the weight off your feet- my how homeware stores have evolved! The only downside here is the service, you can rarely find a staff member in this gargantuan place and paying for goods at the till can be a time consuming full-time occupation. On the plus side though, prices are reasonable and you will leave with at least 3 items you don't need but could not resist buying.
