I shop here frequently, also I donate, as this is my local goodwill. I have had great luck here…read moremany times, and have told many people about the selection at Marion Goodwill. Today though the tall blond that works here was so very hateful to me. I literally left in tears. I will not return EVER! I am hearing impaired in my right ear, my daughter was on the phone with me and my phone obviously has to be on my left side to hear. I do not know my own volume when this is happening. She came up to me and very rudely told me I was being loud, I immediately apologized and was super embarrassed! She then kept on by saying people were lookin at me and when I apologized again she said yeah and rolled her eyes and walked away. I was completely understanding bc I do know that I can't hear well. She however was so hateful after my apology and it was uncalled for! I then emptied my basket and left with tears in my eyes.

Great Goodwill store! Has a lot of adult clothing and a large wing of kids clothes. The clothes…read morewere pretty well organized by size which made finding great deals easier. Much easier than the old way of organizing by item color, I've never understood that reasoning?! Staff was very happy even while working on Memorial Day. (Thanks to all our former Veterans) I was able to score a great bargain on some Adidas Sambas and a pair of Sorel boots for a total of just $11!! Next time I'm in Marion this will be a must stop. Thanks Goodwill.

The outside looks great and it has a neat layout, so there's that. But I did have to walk through…read morea cloud of smelly cigarette smoke from the 2 employees that were sitting on each side of the door, smoking. Yuck. Aside from that, I noticed that their sign features a graphic that looks like a church with a cross and because of that, I mistakenly thought this thrift store was serving the public good by operating as a non profit or at least contributing a portion of their for-profit bottom line to a charity, but I was wrong. I went in today and noticed that they also accept donations. Do the folks that donate their items to this place realize that they are basically giving their stuff away to someone who will sell it and keep the money for themselves? I asked the employee if the store served a charitable cause and he told me that it serves the community by offering them these items. He evaded every question I asked him and tried to cover the fact that they take donations and the owner is the only one who profits. If those that donate understand that this is absolutely NOT a non-profit and this thrift store does NOT support a charity, then that is their choice. However, because of the way the employee answered the questions I asked, I feel that they are misrepresenting themselves and taking the good people of McDowell County for fools. It is also my opinion that the graphic on the sign which appears to be a church with a cross is also a misrepresentation since their profits are not going to any church. I hope people will begin to pay attention to places like this and consider donating to legitimate 501-c3 organizations instead. I have a feeling that most people do not realize that this place isn't a non-profit.
